Getty Hits New Copper Zone at Getty South, Drilling 160 Metres Grading 0.32% Copper
Getty expands its South footprint with a new zone grading 0.32% copper, representing half the grade of the original discovery.

Getty Copper Inc. (GTC) has released assay results for five drill holes completed at the Getty South target within the Highland Valley district of British Columbia during spring 2026. The company described the findings as a "new copper zone" intersected on the margin of, and extending well outside, the 500-meter-diameter low-chargeability IP anomaly that hosted earlier high-grade intercepts. The holes were collared 150 to 190 meters northeast and east of the cross-sections associated with those previous results. True widths for the new intercepts have not yet been determined.
The reported assay data includes the following significant intercepts:
- GS26-10: 160.2 meters of 0.32% Cu and 0.4 g/t Ag from 165 meters (to 325.2 meters). Sub-intervals include 34.8 meters of 0.50% Cu from 165 meters, which contains 11 meters of 1.00% Cu from 172 meters; and 43.8 meters of 0.43% Cu from 231 meters, which contains 3.2 meters of 2.91% Cu from 271.6 meters. Separately, the hole returned 56 meters of 0.12% Cu from 42 meters.
- GS26-11: 145 meters of 0.13% Cu and 0.4 g/t Ag from 9 meters, including 16 meters of 0.20% Cu from 57 meters and 20 meters of 0.24% Cu from 119 meters.
- GS26-07: 3 meters of 1.18% Cu and 5.7 g/t Ag from 15 meters; and 30 meters of 0.12% Cu from 69 meters.
- GS26-08: 48 meters of 0.37% Cu and 1.1 g/t Ag from 8 meters, including 25.3 meters of 0.53% Cu from 19 meters, which contains 6.3 meters of 0.99% Cu from 38 meters.
- GS26-09: No significant intercept, though anomalous copper was detected throughout.
Assays are pending for two additional holes at Getty South and three at Getty North. Two drilling rigs are currently active at the Getty South site. The copper mineralization is characterized by coarse chalcopyrite with minor bornite in hydrothermal breccia cement, veins, and disseminations, with local supergene oxidation near the surface and along faults. CEO of Getty Copper Inc. cited approximately $20 million in the bank following a recent financing.
Getty Copper Inc. (GTC) remains in the explorer stage, with no current mineral resource or reserve existing under NI 43-101 standards, aside from a historical estimate at Getty North. At this development phase, a discovery or step-out that expands the system is considered more material than infill drilling at a producer. The absence of true width, cutoff, metallurgy, and a resource estimate represents the baseline state for the company.
The best previously reported intercept on the Getty South system came from the September 14, 2026 release, which included hole GS26-06 reporting 150.3 m at 0.71% Cu, including 103.3 m at 0.94% and 46 m at 1.47% (approximately 106.7 %·m). This release also featured GS26-05 at 80 m of 0.84% (approximately 67 %·m). That announcement was a market-moving event.
On the day of that anchor release, September 14, 2026, the stock closed at C$1.01. It had peaked at C$1.09 on September 3, 2026, and currently trades at C$0.59, roughly 42-46% below that peak. The stock made a new low of the provided series at C$0.52 on October 22, 2026, effectively round-tripping to the bottom of its range. The market is not currently pricing in a repetition of the 0.71%-plus grades.
The new best intercept reports 160.2 m at 0.32% Cu (approximately 51.3 %·m). This compares to the anchor's 150.3 m at 0.71% (approximately 106.7 %·m), representing roughly half the grade and half the percent-metres. The new zone is located 100-180 m away, making it additive to the footprint rather than a failed test of the anchor hole. The grade is materially weaker, while the length is comparable. Two of the five holes are non-economic, including one dud and one at 0.13% Cu.
Because the anchor is not embedded in the current valuation, the route to a negative rating based on materially weaker results does not apply. Similarly, the rule regarding unpriced positive potential does not apply, as this result is not better in grade-and-width substance than what has already been demonstrated; it is worse than the anchor and worse than the Getty North bulk holes.
The mineralised footprint at Getty South is larger than the IP anomaly suggested, and the system remains open. This provides a modest increment to perceived scale. The results include one barren hole and one effectively-waste hole. Nothing here changes the resource or deposit thesis, nor does it de-risk the high-grade core.
Financially, the company held C$7.9 million in cash as of June 30, 2026. A C$15.0 million flow-through closing in October 2026 supports the CEO's statement of "approximately $20 million in the bank" and funds the expanded programme. However, the company's MD&A flags a material going-concern uncertainty. FT shares issued under the LIFE exemption on September 30, 2026, carry no hold period.
Getty Copper Inc. (TSXV: GTC; OTCQX: GTCDF), a Vancouver-based explorer and developer, is focused on the Highland Valley district in southern British Columbia, Canada's largest copper-producing region. The company holds an 82% interest in the Getty Property, which encompasses the Getty North and Getty South targets along with a portfolio of satellite prospects including Getty West, Dike Swarm, Bark & Bite, Woods Creek, North Glossie, and Lux. These assets are located adjacent to Teck’s Highland Valley Copper Mine. Additionally, Getty Copper owns 100% of the Dot Property, which was acquired through a March 2026 amalgamation with 1390120 B.C. Ltd. (Numberco).
The company’s corporate structure underwent significant changes in March 2026, when Ryan O’Regan was installed as CEO, Roy Greig as VP Exploration, and Charles Funk as Chairman. The same month saw the completion of the amalgamation that brought in the Dot Property and C$15 million from 125 million subscription receipts at C$0.12 per share. All debt was retired, and a 5-for-1 share consolidation became effective on July 2, 2026. In October 2026, the company closed a C$15.0 million flow-through financing at a price range of C$1.08 to C$1.395.
Drilling activity has expanded significantly under the new leadership. The spring 2026 programme included approximately 10,807 metres drilled across 28 holes. The subsequent fall programme was expanded from an initial target of 4,000–6,000 metres to over 20,000 metres.
Regarding resource status, a historical mineral resource estimate at Getty North cited an indicated grade of approximately 0.37% Cu in an April 2026 outlook release. No current NI 43-101 mineral resource or reserve exists, and the company is targeting a modern resource estimate in 2027.
Financial data from the second quarter of 2026 presents complexities due to the share consolidation. The as-reported share count of 364.35 million shares in the Q2-2026 financials is dated June 30, 2026, immediately prior to the consolidation. The as-reported book value per share of C$0.02 is consistent with this pre-consolidation count. If the reported share count is pre-consolidation while the price series is consolidation-adjusted, the market capitalisation is materially smaller than C$215 million, appearing closer to C$50 million on an adjusted count of approximately 84 million shares, including the October flow-through issuance. The provided data does not resolve this ambiguity; the market-cap figure is treated as approximate and consolidation-sensitive.
Prior-period context not disclosed in today’s release indicates that H1-2026 net loss was C$9.48 million. This included a C$4.61 million non-cash exploration and evaluation charge related to the Dot acquisition and C$1.12 million in share-based compensation. At June 30, 2026, the company held C$7.88 million in cash, zero debt, and positive working capital of C$6.59 million. The MD&A explicitly flags material uncertainty over going concern.
