Sun Summit Receives Positive Metallurgical Test Results for the JD Project
Sun Summit’s JD Project metallurgy confirms high gold recoveries and a low-cost processing path for its mineral resources.

Sun Summit Minerals Corp. (SMN) reported positive metallurgical test results for its JD Project in British Columbia, demonstrating high gold and silver recoveries using conventional extraction methods including gravity, flotation, and cyanidation. The gold is free-milling with coarse free gold, allowing efficient processing at coarser grind sizes of 150µm and 250µm, which reduces future capital and operating expenditures.
The company noted the following performance metrics from its testing:
- Optimized Gravity-Leach flowsheet achieved 89-98% gold extraction for Creek and Finn Zone composites.
- Gravity-Float-Leach procedure demonstrated total gold extraction of approximately 100% for Finn Zone composites.
- Cyanidation extraction remained high at coarser grinds with reduced cyanide consumption.
An inaugural Mineral Resource Estimate is anticipated in Q1 2027.
Sun Summit Minerals Corp. (SMN) announced that metallurgical results validate the economic potential of the JD Project by confirming high recoveries and favorable processing characteristics. This announcement follows a metallurgical test program initiated in April 2026, which was expected to yield results in Q4 2026.
Sun Summit Minerals Corp. (SMN) is a pre-revenue junior explorer focused on the Toodoggone Mining District in British Columbia. Its flagship JD Project comprises a 31,500-hectare property featuring the Creek and Finn zones, which host high-grade epithermal gold-silver mineralization. The project also includes the Schmitt Zone and a 12km JD Porphyry Trend.
The company’s Theory Project is a 9,676-hectare copper-gold property located 10 km NW of JD, with strong surface copper showings and geophysical targets ready for 2027 drilling. Additionally, the Buck Project is a 52,000-hectare fully permitted Cu-Mo-Au property near operating mines.
The company is advancing toward an inaugural MRE for JD in Q1 2027, supported by a completed 16,000-meter drill program in 2026.
