Eagle Plains Partner Sun Summit Completes 2026 Program at the Theory Project, Toodoggone District, BC

Sun Summit completes JD drilling and theory exploration, awaiting a Q1 2027 resource definition.

Executive Summary

Sun Summit Minerals Corp. (SMN) has completed its 2026 fieldwork at the Theory copper-gold project in British Columbia. The program identified new surface copper mineralization at the Saboteur, Baguette Peak, and Misty Mountain zones. Geophysical surveys, including a 476-line-kilometer MobileMT survey and an Induced Polarization (IP) survey, highlighted strong resistivity and chargeability anomalies aligned with known mineral zones and the Jurassic-Triassic unconformity. A total of 218 rock grab samples and 533 soil samples were collected; geochemical and assay results are pending.

Management plans to analyze the 2026 data to prioritize targets for a historic, first-ever drilling campaign in 2027. This follows the completion of the JD project's 2026 drill program on September 15, 2026, which exceeded plans by drilling over 16,000 meters across 55 holes in the Creek, Finn, and Schmitt zones. Assays for JD are also pending, with an inaugural mineral resource estimate targeted for Q1 2027.

Material Impact

Sun Summit Minerals Corp. (SMN) has completed previously announced exploration programs, a move consistent with its stated 2026 exploration plan. The completion does not introduce new assay results, resource updates, or financing. Pending assays and the timeline for the Q1 2027 mineral resource estimate remain unchanged.

The $4 million private placement closed in August 2026 provides sufficient runway to continue exploration and prepare for the 2027 drill program and MRE.

Company Overview

Sun Summit Minerals Corp. (SMN) is a pre-revenue junior explorer focused on British Columbia's Toodoggone Mining District. The company’s flagship JD Project comprises a 15,000+ hectare property featuring epithermal gold-silver systems along the Creek-Finn corridor and porphyry copper-gold potential along a 12 km trend. The project benefits from strong infrastructure, including all-season road access and proximity to Kemess Mine hydroelectric power.

The company also holds the Theory Project, a 9,676 hectare copper-gold-silver property under an option agreement with Eagle Plains Resources. Recent work on this property has identified high-grade copper zones and porphyry-related alteration. Additionally, the Buck Project is a 52,000 hectare property with porphyry-related copper-molybdenum-gold-silver systems that is fully permitted and bonded for drilling.

Management is led by CEO Niel Marotta and VP Exploration Ken MacDonald, P.Geo. The company is targeting an inaugural NI 43-101 mineral resource estimate for JD in Q1 2027.
