Titan Confirms District-Wide Germanium Enrichment as Critical Mineral Push Expands at Empire State Mines
Titan’s germanium update validates by-product optionality while zinc remains the primary cash engine for the project.

Titan Mining Corporation confirmed district-wide germanium enrichment across its 100%-owned Empire State Mines property in New York. Reconnaissance sampling covered six underground ore bodies and two historic tailings facilities, establishing germanium as a district-wide characteristic rather than a localized anomaly.
Tailings targets show elevated grades, including Number 4 Tailings at 18.8 million short tons with 18.1–31.3 ppm germanium and Edwards Tailings at 4.97 million short tons with 30.1–44.7 ppm germanium. Primary ore bodies also show enrichment, with grades ranging from 4.5–85.6 ppm at Mud Pond Main, as well as at the Upper and Lower Mahler, New Fold, N2D, and Mud Pond Apron.
The company highlighted current germanium pricing of approximately $6,000 per kilogram and growing demand from the semiconductors, AI, and defense sectors. Next steps include target prioritization, mineral deportment studies, and recovery test work under the existing Teck Resources cooperation agreement. Results are exploratory and do not constitute a mineral resource estimate.
Titan Mining Corporation (TI) released an exploration and by-product update that validates prior announcements regarding its germanium potential, specifically referencing a cooperation with Teck scheduled for May 2026 and a Q1 2026 operational update. The news confirms that germanium is present across the district but remains in the evaluation phase. This development does not alter near-term production profiles, cost structures, or the graphite feasibility timeline. The market has already priced in the strategic partnerships and graphite development.
Titan Mining Corporation (TI) operates a dual-commodity platform centered on zinc production and domestic graphite development. The company’s Empire State Mines (ESM) is an underground zinc mine located in the Balmat-Edwards district of New York, which is currently producing and generating positive cash flow.
The company is also advancing the Kilbourne Graphite Project, situated less than one mile from the ESM mill. A demonstration plant is operational and producing concentrate for customer qualification, while a feasibility study is underway for a 40,000 tpa commercial facility. Titan Mining aims to become the first end-to-end natural flake graphite producer in the United States in over 70 years, targeting the defense, battery anode, and industrial markets.
