LAURION Intersects 1.80 m @ 17.10 g/t Au and 9.24 g/t Ag, Including 0.80 m @ 31.50 g/t Au and 15.60 g/t Ag, and 10.05 m @ 1.11 g/t Au and 2.12 g/t Ag, Including 1.85 m @ 4.11 g/t Au and 8.23 g/t Ag, in LBX26-117 at Ishkoday's A-Zone

Laurion reported a narrow high-grade intercept offset by a failed historical twin at its project.

Executive Summary

Laurion Mineral Exploration Inc. (LME) reported assay results from six holes—LBX26-113, LBX26-114A, LBX26-115, LBX26-116, LBX26-117 and LBX26-121—totalling 1,227 m from the 2026 Phase 1 program at its 100%-owned Ishkōday gold-polymetallic project. The Phase 1 program has been expanded from 3,865 m to 5,605 m across 22 holes, guided by SRK Consulting’s structural gap analysis.

Key reported intervals include:

  • LBX26-117: 1.80 m @ 17.10 g/t Au and 9.24 g/t Ag from 91.50–93.30 m, including 0.80 m @ 31.50 g/t Au and 15.60 g/t Ag from 92.00–92.80 m.
  • LBX26-117: 3.70 m @ 0.927 g/t Au and 2.10 g/t Ag from 127.50–131.20 m, including 1.10 m @ 2.623 g/t Au.
  • LBX26-117: 10.05 m @ 1.112 g/t Au, 2.12 g/t Ag and 0.51% Zn from 160.25–170.30 m, including 1.85 m @ 4.107 g/t Au, 8.23 g/t Ag, 0.23% Cu and 2.19% Zn, and within that 0.60 m @ 9.500 g/t Au, 19.10 g/t Ag, 0.49% Cu and 3.79% Zn.
  • LBX26-116: 2.80 m @ 2.261 g/t Au, 8.06 g/t Ag, 0.15% Cu and 0.10% Zn from 134.00–136.80 m, including 0.80 m @ 6.510 g/t Au.
  • LBX26-116: 20.05 m @ 0.411 g/t Au, 3.76 g/t Ag and 0.61% Zn from 162.40–182.45 m, including 7.90 m @ 0.730 g/t Au, 4.88 g/t Ag and 0.86% Zn, and a 0.50 m subinterval @ 3.050 g/t Au, 56.50 g/t Ag and 4.89% Zn.
  • LBX26-115: 4.35 m @ 0.820 g/t Au, 9.65 g/t Ag and 0.66% Zn from 37.20–41.55 m, including 1.30 m @ 2.356 g/t Au, 27.11 g/t Ag and 2.06% Zn.
  • LBX26-121: 5.20 m @ 1.067 g/t Au, 7.87 g/t Ag and 1.11% Zn from 133.00–138.20 m, including 1.05 m @ 3.467 g/t Au, 18.93 g/t Ag and 3.60% Zn.
  • LBX26-121: 0.65 m @ 6.240 g/t Au and 5.60 g/t Ag from 192.85–193.50 m.
  • LBX26-113: designed as a twin of historical hole 92-65; new assays returned lower grades than the historical result. Reported intervals were low grade, including 2.00 m @ 0.234 g/t Au, 2.50 m @ 0.191 g/t Au, 2.00 m @ 0.450 g/t Au and 4.00 m @ 0.321 g/t Au.
  • LBX26-114A: infill hole with low-grade results, including 10.00 m @ 0.194 g/t Au and 5.00 m @ 0.188 g/t Au.

The release states all core lengths are drilled thicknesses, true widths have not yet been determined, and intervals use a “nominal cut-off” without disclosing the numeric value. Dr. Trevor Boyd is named as the NI 43-101 Qualified Person.

Material Impact

Laurion Mineral Exploration Inc. (LME) is a pre-resource explorer with no revenue and a market capitalization of roughly C$39 million at C$0.14. At this stage, a drill result is material to the equity only if it changes the perceived scale, grade, or odds of a resource. A narrow 1.80 m high-grade intercept does not establish tonnes; it is a good point sample, but it does not demonstrate a continuous volume, true width, mineable geometry, recovery, or economic viability.

The immediate expectation anchor was the prior 2026 Phase 1 news flow, including LBX26-112’s 1.20 m @ 6.58 g/t (about 7.9 g.m) and a 6.00 m polymetallic interval with a high-grade silver-copper-zinc subinterval. LBX26-117 is better by gold gram-metres than that immediate anchor, but it is still narrow and within a program that has produced many short high-grade hits. The stock has fallen from C$0.34 to C$0.14 and sits near its 52-week low, so the market has not embedded a large discovery premium.

The failed LBX26-113 twin is a partial offset. It does not invalidate the project, but it raises a data-quality question over the historical drill database just as the company moves toward a maiden resource. That is a meaningful technical caution and keeps the release from being a clean positive.

Company Overview

Laurion Mineral Exploration Inc. is a pre-revenue Canadian explorer focused on the 100%-owned Ishkōday gold and polymetallic project in the Beardmore–Geraldton and Onaman–Tashota greenstone belts of Northern Ontario. The project covers approximately 57 km² and a 6.0 km by 2.5 km mineralized corridor. The company reports over 100,000 m of historical and modern drilling and describes two mineralizing events: an earlier epithermal-style gold-silver-zinc-copper system and a later orogenic gold event.

Prior-period financial context not disclosed in today’s release indicates that Q1-2026 net loss was C$610,745; cash was C$4.876 million; working capital was C$4.955 million; and management flagged going-concern uncertainty due to reliance on equity financing. The company has a C$1.247 million flow-through expenditure commitment due by December 31, 2026. It targets a NI 43-101 technical report and potential maiden Mineral Resource Estimate in late 2026, subject to financing and results. The MD&A also notes the Midlothian JV was exited to Canada Nickel, generating C$75,782 of option income.
