LAURION Advances Environmental and Permitting Activities at Ishkoday Gold and Polymetallic Project
Laurion’s Ishkoday permitting advances on schedule with no near-term catalysts or price impact expected for the project.

Laurion Mineral Exploration Inc. has issued a regulatory and environmental update regarding its 100%-owned Ishkōday Gold and Polymetallic Project in Ontario. The company submitted a Recovery of Minerals Permit application to the Ontario Ministry of Energy and Mines for a surface stockpile initiative designed to facilitate off-site processing of historical waste rock. This approach aims to recover residual mineralization without the need for new underground development.
Regarding the underground component of the project, Laurion is preparing a Permit to Take Water (PTTW) application for shaft dewatering at the historic Sturgeon River Mine, with a target submission date in Q4 2026. The company has completed five years of independent environmental baseline studies, which cover terrestrial and aquatic ecology, groundwater, hydrogeology, and a Stage 1 Archaeological Assessment.
Indigenous engagement has progressed through a Joint Steering Committee and specific consultations with three First Nations: AZA, BNA, and BZA. Laurion explicitly stated that no commercial mineral production or ore processing is proposed for this phase; activities are strictly limited to exploratory work, including geological mapping, sampling, and drilling.
Laurion Mineral Exploration Inc. (LME) released an update that represents an expected, incremental step in the company's 2026 strategic work plan announced in March 2026. Permitting submissions align with management's stated timeline and do not introduce new geological data, financing, or operational changes. The focus remains on building regulatory confidence for advanced exploration rather than advancing toward production. Given the pre-revenue status and the routine nature of environmental submissions, the market impact is limited to maintaining project momentum without altering near-term valuation drivers.
Laurion Mineral Exploration Inc. is a pre-revenue junior explorer focused on the Ishkōday Gold and Polymetallic Project, located in the Beardmore-Geraldton and Onaman-Tashota Greenstone Belts of Northwestern Ontario. The project covers approximately 57 km² and features a 6.0 km x 2.5 km structurally controlled mineralized corridor.
Geology includes two distinct mineralizing events: an early epithermal-style system (Au-Ag-Zn-Cu) and a late orogenic gold system. Historical and modern exploration has completed over 98,000 meters of drilling. The company is advancing toward a maiden NI 43-101 Mineral Resource Estimate, targeting completion in Q4 2026. Management is also evaluating a surface stockpile recovery initiative to generate early-stage, non-dilutive cash flow.
