LAURION Corrects Statement in August 5, 2026 Press Release and Provides 2026 Phase 1 A-Zone Drill Program and Permitting Update
Laurion corrects zinc grades overclaimed in previous results while awaiting assays from 116 to 124 pending holes.

Laurion Mineral Exploration Inc. (LME) issued a correction and program update on September 1, 2026, clarifying a statement made by its CEO on August 5, 2026. The company corrected a quote that had claimed "over six (6) metres of better than 6% zinc" at the A-Zone. The accurate data refers to a 5.35 m interval grading 3.28% Zn from 267.75 m to 273.10 m in hole LBX26-104, which was already correctly presented in the August 5 assay table. Laurion stated that all other technical disclosures from August 5 remain unchanged.
Phase 1 drilling at the A-Zone has expanded from 3,865 m to 5,605 m across 22 holes. As of the release, 18 holes are completed for approximately 4,915 m, with core logging about 80% complete. Drilling, logging, and sample preparation continue on holes LBX26-116 through LBX26-124, with assays pending. SRK Consulting completed an independent structural gap analysis identifying five priority target zones to help guide drilling toward a planned maiden Mineral Resource Estimate. Permitting is still in progress for the surface stockpile Recovery of Minerals Permit and the Sturgeon River Mine shaft Permit to Take Water.
Laurion Mineral Exploration Inc. (LME) issued a correction and operational update rather than new drilling news. While the correction did not alter the technical dataset, it represents a minor negative for management credibility after the company publicly repeated an overstated zinc grade.
The stock has declined from a 52-week high of C$0.41 in October 2025 to C$0.14 by the end of August 2026. A share price move of 15% or more is not expected from this release alone.
