Monument Mining Provides Update on Tuckanarra Joint Venture
Monument asserts manager removal as a joint venture legal dispute delays the Tuckanarra project development.

Monument Mining’s subsidiary, Monument Murchison, is engaged in an active legal dispute with joint venture partner Tuckanarra Resources, a subsidiary of Odyssey Gold, regarding the management of the Tuckanarra Gold Project. Tuckanarra Resources has filed for an interlocutory injunction in the Supreme Court of Western Australia to block a Management Committee meeting scheduled for October 21, 2026. Monument intends to use that meeting to appoint a Replacement Manager.
Monument asserts that Tuckanarra ceased to be the JV Manager effective September 25, 2026, due to an unremedied material breach. Specifically, Monument claims Tuckanarra unilaterally entered into a toll milling agreement (TMA) with a third party, Gylden Resources/Kirkalocka Gold SPV, without authorization. Monument explicitly states it does not recognize, adopt, or ratify the TMA and reserves all rights to seek damages.
The parties have agreed to interim arrangements and an expedited dispute resolution timetable, though Monument maintains these do not constitute an admission regarding the validity of Tuckanarra’s removal. Monument holds a 20% free-carried interest in the project, while Odyssey Gold holds 80%.
Monument Mining Limited (MMY) issued an update on October 20, marking a direct legal escalation of the October 13 manager removal notice. This development introduces short-term governance uncertainty and potential delays in advancing the Tuckanarra project. The dispute centers on contractual management rights and an unauthorized milling agreement, rather than Monument’s core producing asset.
Financial exposure remains limited because Monument holds a 20% free-carried interest, meaning it bears no development costs until a decision to mine is made. Operations and cash generation at the Selinsing Gold Mine remain unaffected. The company’s balance sheet is robust, with $109.56 million in cash and $122.86 million in working capital as of FY2026 year-end.
The legal process will likely delay project planning and may complicate future toll milling arrangements, but it does not threaten solvency or near-term production. The market has already priced in the removal notice; this update confirms the dispute will proceed through Western Australian courts.
Monument Mining Limited (MMY) is a gold producer and developer listed on the TSX Venture and Frankfurt Stock Exchange. Its flagship asset is the Selinsing Gold Mine in Peninsular Malaysia, a producing sulphide gold operation that transitioned to commercial production in September 2023. The mine features a 950 ktpa processing plant and has generated $485 million in net cash from production historically.
The company’s development portfolio includes the Murchison Gold Project in Western Australia, comprising the Burnakura, Gabanintha, and Tuckanarra JV assets. The Tuckanarra JV, which is 20% free-carried, holds a 407 koz resource and offers potential toll milling opportunities at the Burnakura plant. Monument Mining’s strategic focus is on sustaining Selinsing production, extending mine life through exploration, and advancing Murchison toward a potential second cash flow source.
