Monument Announces Removal of Tuckanarra as Joint Venture Manager
Monument severs ties with Odyssey’s subsidiary, stalling Tuckanarra development amid a joint venture dispute.

Monument Mining Limited has issued a notice removing Tuckanarra Resources Pty Ltd, a subsidiary of Odyssey Gold Limited, as the Joint Venture Manager for the Tuckanarra Gold Project. The removal stems from an alleged material breach of the Exploration Joint Venture Agreement, specifically Tuckanarra’s unilateral entry into a toll milling agreement (TMA) with Gylden Resources and Kirkalocka Gold SPV without Monument’s authorization or consent.
Monument explicitly states it does not recognize, adopt, or ratify the TMA and maintains it is not bound by its terms. Odyssey Gold has issued a dispute notice contesting the breach allegations. While Monument will proceed with dispute resolution through mediation, it asserts its right to remove the manager remains intact.
Monument has requested a management committee meeting to appoint a Replacement Manager, noting that Tuckanarra or Odyssey cannot be appointed. Monument holds a 20% free-carried interest in the Tuckanarra Gold Project and reserves all rights to seek damages for losses incurred.
The removal of the joint venture manager introduces governance friction and potential delays to the Tuckanarra project's development timeline. Monument Mining Limited’s direct financial exposure remains limited to its 20% free-carried interest, meaning the bulk of the capital expenditure and operational risk stays with Odyssey Gold.
A unilateral toll milling agreement with Gylden Resources creates uncertainty around ore processing logistics and potential revenue sharing, although Monument’s refusal to recognize the toll milling agreement mitigates immediate contractual liability. While legal and mediation costs may arise, the company’s strong cash position suggests these expenses are unlikely to impact near-term liquidity.
The news is not immediately market-moving but introduces execution risk for the Western Australian portfolio, which is critical for Monument Mining Limited’s long-term growth strategy beyond Selinsing.
Monument Mining Limited is a gold producer and developer listed on the TSX Venture and Frankfurt Stock Exchange. Its flagship asset is the Selinsing Gold Mine in Peninsular Malaysia, a producing sulphide gold mine with a projected mine life of 5+ years and potential extensions. The company has successfully transitioned to commercial sulphide production, achieving record realized gold prices and strong cash flows.
The company’s development portfolio includes the Murchison Gold Project in Western Australia, comprising the Burnakura and Gabanintha projects. Burnakura features a 260 ktpa CIL plant on care and maintenance, with historic resources of 381 koz. Gabanintha holds historic resources of 153 koz with significant exploration upside. Additionally, Monument holds a 20% free-carried interest until a decision to mine in the Tuckanarra Gold Project joint venture.
