WESCAN GOLDFIELDS COMMENCES CAMP MOBILIZATION FOR 2026 DIAMOND DRILLING PROGRAM AT MUNRO LAKE PROJECT

WGF · Price

Wescan Goldfields Inc. has commenced camp mobilization for its 2026 diamond drilling program at the Munro Lake Project in northern Saskatchewan, with drilling expected to begin within days. Phase 1 of the program involves up to 2,000 metres of helicopter-supported diamond drilling, authorized by a drill permit received in July 2026. The primary objective is to follow up on high-grade gold intercepts from the 2013 drill program, specifically in the southeast zone, by testing mineralization down-plunge and along strike, as well as testing high-grade surface grab samples.

The 2013 drill program included a total of 1,052 metres of historical drilling. Notable intercepts from that campaign include drill hole EXML-002, which returned 67.1 g/t gold over 1.00 metre (True thickness unknown), and drill hole EXML-001, which returned 7.1 g/t gold over 1.02 metres (True thickness unknown). In addition to historical data, high-grade gold grab samples have been collected across a prospective strike length of approximately 7 kilometres spanning three principal mineralized areas. The highest assay from these surface samples was 38 g/t gold, collected in 2019.

UAV-based magnetic and LiDAR surveys contracted with Tuzo Geo Surveys are expected to commence shortly after camp mobilization to refine structural interpretation and drill targeting. The Munro Lake Project is located approximately 7 kilometres northeast of SSR Mining's Seabee mine and mill complex in northern Saskatchewan.

"Getting camp mobilized at Munro Lake is a significant milestone for Wescan," said W. Connor MacNeill, Chief Executive Officer of Wescan. "We are excited to get the drills turning and to begin executing on a multi-phase exploration approach that we expect will keep us active at Munro Lake well beyond this season."

John Shmyr, P.Geo., of Dahrouge Geological Consulting Ltd., is the Qualified Person for the project.
