WESCAN GOLDFIELDS COMMENCES DIAMOND DRILLING AT MUNRO LAKE PROJECT
Wescan Goldfields resumes drilling at the Munro Lake project to test historic high-grade gold mineralisation following a thirteen-year hiatus.

Wescan Goldfields Inc. has begun Phase 1 of its 2026 diamond drilling program at the Munro Lake Project in northern Saskatchewan, marking the first drilling activity on the property since 2013. The initial phase involves up to 2,000 metres of helicopter-supported drilling expected to last approximately five weeks. Primary targets include extensions of the historic southeast zone mineralization, specifically testing down-plunge and along-strike continuity of 2013 intercepts, which included 67.1 g/t Au over 1.00 m and 7.1 g/t Au over 1.02 m. Subsequent holes will evaluate additional targets along a 7-kilometre mineralized trend, including areas with surface grab samples up to 38 g/t Au.
The project is located 7 kilometres northeast of SSR Mining's Seabee mine complex. To refine structural mapping and drill targeting, UAV magnetic and LiDAR surveys were completed in September 2026. A three-year drill permit was secured in July 2026, and camp mobilization occurred in August 2026.
Wescan Goldfields Inc. (WGF) has commenced drilling, a routine operational milestone that follows directly from the previously announced permit acquisition, camp mobilization, and geophysical surveys. The activity aligns with expectations set in the April 2026 private placement announcement and subsequent operational updates. No new geological data, assay results, or changes to the exploration budget are provided; this is purely an execution update. The market has already priced in the drilling program through the recent financing and permit announcements.
Wescan Goldfields Inc. (WGF) is a pre-revenue junior explorer focused on gold projects in Saskatchewan's La Ronge and Pine Lake belts. The company’s flagship project is Munro Lake, located in the Pine Lake Belt and situated 7 km from SSR Mining's Seabee mine. Wescan also holds the Jojay Lake property in the La Ronge Belt, which contains a historic Indicated resource of 50,000 oz Au, as well as Fork Lake, the site of the historic Jasper Mine.
The company is currently in the exploration stage. Munro Lake holds a 3-year drill permit and is undergoing Phase 1 drilling. An updated resource estimate for Jojay Lake is in progress, while drilling at Fork Lake is planned for 2027. Additionally, Wescan has newly staked the Lindsay Lake property. There are no royalties or back-in rights on the company's properties.
