Wallbridge And Midland To Test High-Priority Gold Targets At Casault

Wallbridge Mining Company Limited, in partnership with Midland Exploration Inc., has mobilized crews to the Casault gold property to commence a 3,000-metre diamond drilling campaign consisting of 10 to 12 holes. The drilling program aims to test newly identified exploration targets, including the Vortex gold occurrence and the C2 target, based on a comprehensive reinterpretation of historical geophysical and drilling data. The release also notes the resumption of infill drilling at the Fenelon project to support a pre-feasibility study planned for late 2027 or early 2028.
The primary objective of the Casault program is to evaluate potential for additional gold discoveries along the Sunday Lake Deformation Zone (SLDZ) through first-pass testing of new targets and follow-up drilling at Vortex. The Vortex Zone drilling will consist of 5 to 6 holes totaling approximately 1,500 to 1,750 metres. This phase will focus on testing the interpreted eastern extension of the shear-hosted gold system, which could represent a potential 1,000m strike length increase, and evaluating continuity within the main Vortex Zone. Discovered by Midland in 2017, the Vortex Zone is characterized by shallow syenite-associated gold mineralization in steeply dipping shear structures. Historical significant intercepts from 2017 include:
- Hole CAS-17-095: 1.30 g/t Au over 23.5 m, including 3.46 g/t Au over 6.0 m and 23.6 g/t Au over 0.5 m.
- Hole CAS-17-096: 1.38 g/t Au over 26.5 m, including 7.87 g/t Au over 2.2 m and 14.55 g/t Au over 0.8 m.
Drilling at the C2 target, located approximately 4 km southwest of the Vortex Zone at the intersection of the SLDZ and a northwest-trending cross-fault, will involve 3 to 4 holes totaling approximately 750 to 1,000 metres. Additional targets include the intersection of the SLDZ and Fontina cross-fault, as well as untested IP conductivity anomalies along the Lac du Doigt fault zone. The plan for these additional targets is 3 to 4 holes totaling approximately 500 to 750 metres, depending on prioritization.
At the Fenelon project, Wallbridge is resuming the initial ramp-up of infill drilling to support a pre-feasibility study planned for completion in late 2027 or early 2028. The Casault property comprises 177 square kilometres across three claim blocks along the SLDZ, with Wallbridge holding an option to earn up to a 65% interest.
Quality assurance and quality control methodologies involve sample processing at Activation Laboratories Ltd. (“ActLabs”) in Val d’Or, Quebec, using fire assay with atomic absorption spectroscopy finish. Samples assaying 10 g/t Au or greater are re-assayed via metallic screen fire assay or fire assay/gravimetric finish, while samples with visible gold are submitted directly for metallic screen fire assay. The protocol includes the regular insertion of blanks and certified reference materials, with secondary check analyses conducted at an independent accredited laboratory.
“We are very pleased to have our exploration team and drilling crews back in the field following the approximately six-week interruption caused by regional wildfire activity,” said Brian Penny, CEO of Wallbridge. “The team is eager to begin drilling at Casault to test the high-priority targets generated through a comprehensive reinterpretation of field mapping and historic drilling and geophysical data recently completed by our exploration team.”
