Wallbridge Provides Update, Evacuation Order at Fenelon Lifted

Wallbridge Mining Company Limited (WM) has lifted the site evacuation order at its Fenelon Gold Project and Detour-Fenelon Gold Trend property, allowing for a phased return to normal operations following wildfire-related restrictions. The SOPFEU and Quebec Ministry evacuation order issued on July 1, 2026, has been lifted as wildfire activity has subsided. No operating facilities or camps at Fenelon were damaged, and SOPFEU firefighters have demobilized. Kitchen and maintenance personnel have returned, and four employees resumed core logging and sample shipment preparation earlier in the month.
Drilling and field exploration activities are expected to resume by the end of August 2026. Wallbridge has revised its 2026 drilling priorities, focusing on ramping up drilling at Fenelon to support a pre-feasibility study (PFS) targeted for late 2027/early 2028. The company is also completing exploration at Casault and Grasset. However, drilling previously planned for the second phase at Martiniere has been deferred beyond 2026 due to the shortened summer exploration season caused by the evacuation.
“The health and safety of our employees and contractors remains our highest priority, and we are extremely grateful to the firefighters, SOPFEU and the Government of Québec for their tireless efforts to manage and control the wildfires in the region,” commented Brian Penny, Chief Executive Officer of Wallbridge. “We were pleased to be able to provide accommodations and support for the firefighters at the Fenelon camp and will continue to assist SOPFEU in any way we can.”
