Laurion Mineral Exploration Inc. has resumed its Phase 1 diamond drilling program at its 100%-owned Ishkōday Gold and Polymetallic Project in Northwestern Ontario. Operations had been temporarily suspended and personnel evacuated on July 15, 2026, due to active wildfires and hazardous smoke conditions in the region. Recent rainfall has eased fire activity, lifted evacuation orders for the Municipality of Greenstone, and restored safe air quality at the site.
The company is remobilizing its contractor, Forage GeoNord, to continue defining gold and polymetallic mineralization at the A-Zone. Management confirmed no injuries occurred during the evacuation and does not anticipate any impact on the project's geological integrity.
