Eastport Uncovers Multiple Trenches Extending over a Length of 12km with Copper Mineralisation at Copper Snake
Eastport Critical uncovers a 12km trench system, advancing drill target definition for its Botswana project ahead of Q1 2027.

Eastport Critical Metals Corp. (EVI) has completed a 291 km² gravity survey over its Matsitama Project in Botswana. The survey identified multiple historical exploration trenches extending over 12km, which are associated with extensive visible copper mineralization.
The company has commenced a program to excavate, map, and sample these trenches. Re-excavation of trench LT001 revealed a 2m wide copper-mineralized zone containing chrysocolla, brochantite, shattuckite, malachite, and native gold. Results from this work will be combined with geophysical data to define drilling targets for Q1 2027.
The Matsitama Project covers 1,845 km² across six licenses in northeast Botswana, targeting Iron Oxide Copper Gold (IOCG) systems.
Eastport Critical Metals Corp. (EVI) has released news providing incremental geological validation of the Copper Snake anomaly at Matsitama, reinforcing the company's IOCG target model. The discovery of native gold alongside copper minerals adds a potential by-product value component, although assay results from the trench sampling are pending.
The announcement directly supports the company's stated plan to define drill targets for Q1 2027, representing a logical progression rather than a sudden paradigm shift. Given the company's history of multi-asset exploration updates, this fits the pattern of routine operational progress. It does not alter the capital structure, change management, or deliver immediate economic metrics.
The market reaction is muted, consistent with the incremental nature of the update. The stock trades near multi-month lows, indicating investors are pricing in the exploration risk and waiting for definitive drill results.
Eastport Critical Metals Corp. (EVI) is a pre-revenue junior explorer focused on critical metals in Botswana. The company’s flagship asset is the Matsitama Copper Project, a 1,845 km² license area in northeast Botswana that targets IOCG systems. Historically, the project has reported a SAMREC resource of 9.9 Mt @ 4,640 ppm Cu, and the company is currently working to upgrade this to a NI 43-101 compliant resource.
The company’s portfolio also includes the Semarule REE Project, Foley Uranium Project, Selebi-East Nickel-Copper Project, and Keng Project. Eastport employs a "Develop and Distribute" strategy, aiming to advance projects through exploration, potentially via joint ventures, asset sales, or spin-outs. The team is led by CEO Daniel Major, who was appointed in July 2026 and brings a track record of advancing African projects.
