Wesdome Announces Renewal of Normal Course Issuer Bid
Wesdome’s buyback renewal signals cash strength, while Q3 cost creep remains the swing factor for its financial performance.

Wesdome Gold Mines Ltd. (WDO) received TSX approval on November 4, 2026, to renew its normal course issuer bid (NCIB). The company is authorized to purchase up to 7,187,337 common shares for cancellation, representing approximately 5% of the public float of 143,309,909 shares as of October 30, 2026. The renewed program runs from November 9, 2026, to the earlier of November 8, 2027, or completion. Daily purchases on the TSX are capped at 159,948 shares, which is 25% of the six-month average daily volume of 639,792 shares, with one permitted weekly block purchase allowed.
All shares purchased under the new NCIB will be cancelled and funded from existing cash. Wesdome is not obligated to buy any shares and may suspend or discontinue purchases at any time. To facilitate trading, the company is renewing its At-the-Market Share Purchase Program (ASPP) with National Bank Financial, which is expected to take effect on November 9, 2026, allowing purchases during blackout periods. The board stated that the market price may not fully reflect the company's underlying value, a standard rationale for buybacks rather than a new valuation disclosure.
The prior NCIB, which began on November 7, 2025, and expires on November 6, 2026, authorized the purchase of up to 9,013,300 shares. As of November 4, 2026, Wesdome had purchased 7,833,800 shares at a weighted average price of $24.4282 for approximately $190 million, fulfilling about 86.9% of the prior authorization.
Wesdome Gold Mines Ltd. (WDO) has renewed its normal course issuer bid (NCIB), extending the share buyback program for twelve months at a level of approximately 5% of the float. The renewal also keeps the accelerated share purchase plan (ASPP) active.
Prior execution of the program was disciplined, achieving a weighted average price of $24.4282. The renewed authorization preserves the company’s option to retire up to another 5% of its shares.
The announcement does not alter production guidance, cost guidance, reserves, capital expenditures, or near-term free cash flow. Operating performance will continue to depend on Q4 grade recovery, execution at the Kiena mine, and AISC containment.
Wesdome Gold Mines Ltd. (WDO) is a Canadian-focused gold producer operating two 100%-owned underground mines: Eagle River in Ontario and Kiena in Quebec. Eagle River features a permitted mill capacity of 1,200 tonnes per day and is currently executing a “fill-the-mill” strategy. Kiena operates with a permitted capacity of 2,040 tonnes per day and includes a 930-metre shaft with 1,250 tonnes per day ore and waste handling capacity.
The company has provided production guidance of 180,000–205,000 ounces for 2026, 185,000–220,000 ounces for 2027, and 185,000–230,000 ounces for 2028. All-in sustaining cost (AISC) guidance is set at US$1,525–US$1,700/oz for 2026, with 2027–2028 projected at US$1,600–US$1,750/oz. Both mines are supported by eight-year reserve-based plans extending through 2033. Exploration efforts are focused on near-mine extensions and district-scale targets, including Eagle River’s 800, 500, and 700 zones and Kiena’s Shawkey, Norbenite Footwall, and Presqu’île areas.
