Wesdome Intersects 7.8 g/t Gold over 57.2 Metres at Kiena Deep, Confirming the Norbenite Footwall Zone; Discovers a New Zone Near Infrastructure

Wesdome’s Kiena Deep confirmation adds optionality, though no true width or resource tonnes were disclosed for the new discovery.

Executive Summary

Wesdome Gold Mines Ltd. (WDO) released an exploration update for its Kiena mine, confirming the Norbenite Footwall Zone and discovering the VZ Zone near existing mine infrastructure.

Key reported intercepts, all core length because true width has not been determined: - N134-7207: 7.8 g/t Au uncapped over 57.2 m core length; table reports 7.7 g/t uncut and 7.3 g/t capped; headline also cites 7.4 g/t capped - Prior Norbenite hole N134-7152W1: 6.9 g/t Au uncapped over 42.1 m core length - Historic hole 6752W10: 9.9 g/t Au over 83.2 m core length - VZ Zone holes: 4.9 g/t over 6.0 m, 6.4 g/t over 7.0 m, 4.3 g/t over 4.0 m, 4.6 g/t over 8.0 m, 2.9 g/t over 3.7 m, and 3.4 g/t over 4.0 m - VZ Parallel Vein: N109-7213 returned 23.8 g/t Au over 4.0 m core length

The release frames Norbenite as “confirmed” over 150 vertical metres, open up-plunge, laterally and at depth, with at least 300 vertical metres of untested ground up-plunge toward the upper Footwall Zone.

Material Impact

Wesdome Gold Mines Ltd. (WDO) is an established producer with an approximate C$4.8B market capitalization. A near-mine exploration result at this stage does not by itself change reserves, mine life, or near-term cash flow.

The Norbenite intercept is a confirmation of a previously announced discovery, not a new district-opening event. The new VZ Zone is near infrastructure but small. The release adds optionality and modestly de-risks the Kiena exploration story, but it does not transform the resource base.

  • The best prior same-zone intercept on gram-metres was historic 6752W10 at 824 g.m.
  • The new N134-7207 is 446 g.m, about 46% lower on uncapped core length.
  • The new hole is better than the 2026 N134-7152W1 intercept of 290 g.m, but it sits between existing holes rather than extending the zone.

The market has already re-rated from about C$25.34 on 22 June 2026 to C$33.52 by 10 September 2026, a gain of roughly 32%, though that move was also driven by the June reserve/technical report update, dividend initiation, buybacks, and Q2 results. The Norbenite story is partially embedded, but not all of the move is attributable to it.

Because this is a producer and the result is incremental, a 15%+ share-price move on this standalone release would be surprising.

Company Overview

Wesdome Gold Mines Ltd. (WDO) is a Canadian gold producer operating two wholly owned underground mines: Eagle River in Ontario and Kiena in Quebec. The company reported FY2025 production of 185,576 ounces, generating C$914.3M in revenue, C$349.5M in net income, and C$278.1M in free cash flow. For 2026, Wesdome has issued production guidance of 180,000 to 205,000 ounces. Proved and probable reserves total approximately 1.4 moz, with mine plans extended to eight years at both assets. The balance sheet remains strong, holding roughly C$353.9M in cash at the end of 2025 with minimal debt.

The Kiena mine is the subject of this release. The Norbenite Footwall Zone is located outside the current resource model, and VZ represents a new near-mine target.
