Primary Hydrogen Commences 1,500-metre Maiden Drill Program at Wicheeda North Targeting Northwest-Trending Rare Earth Soil Anomaly
Primary Hydrogen begins its maiden drill program at the Wicheeda North rare earth element target, fully funded from treasury.

Primary Hydrogen Corp. (HDRO) has launched its maiden 1,500-metre diamond drill program at the Wicheeda North Rare Earth Element project in British Columbia. The initiative targets a northwest-trending soil anomaly identified through 2026 soil sampling, which recorded values up to 932.21 ppm TRE+Y, as well as airborne radiometric surveys.
The drilling is fully funded from existing treasury, with a five-year Mines Act permit authorizing up to 70 sites through 2031. Results will be reported once assays are received and interpreted, with the company acknowledging alternative geological explanations for the anomalies.
Primary Hydrogen Corp. (HDRO) has initiated drilling at its Wicheeda North project, marking a transition from planning and soil sampling to active field operations. This development represents the execution of a previously announced exploration plan and confirms management’s commitment to advancing the asset. The company is funding this phase entirely from its treasury, eliminating immediate dilution or financing risk.
The announcement is considered a routine operational milestone rather than a material financial or strategic shift. While it underscores the company’s progress, it does not yet provide assay results or resource definitions. The market impact is expected to be limited to a routine positive reaction, as the start of drilling was anticipated following the September 2026 update.
Primary Hydrogen Corp. (HDRO) is a pre-revenue exploration company focused on natural hydrogen and rare earth elements across North America. Its flagship project is Wicheeda North in British Columbia, a 2,138-hectare property where the company holds an option to acquire a 75% interest. The property is located approximately 5 km northwest of Defense Metals' Wicheeda REE deposit.
The company also holds a portfolio of natural hydrogen projects in Ontario, Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, and Colorado, primarily in the early grassroots exploration phase. Management transitioned to CEO David Jackson in July 2026, bringing operational scaling experience.
