Aztec Drills 83.8 meters of 1.31 g/t AuEq (0.90 g/t Au and 22.61 g/t Ag), Including 7.6 meters of 8.34 g/t AuEq (6.97 g/t Au & 75.42 g/t Ag); Extends the Strike Length by 255 Meters to over 1,250 Meters of Oxide Gold-Silver Mineralization at the Tombstone
Aztec’s 255 m step-out extends Tombstone to 1.25 km with positive continuity and in-line grades.

Aztec Minerals Corp. (AZT) released results from five reverse-circulation holes, TR26-40 to TR26-44, drilled at the North Extension target on its Tombstone property in Arizona. The company states that these holes extend the Contention mineralized system by 255 metres north-northeast, bringing the continuously drilled strike length to more than 1,250 metres. All five holes intersected oxide gold-silver mineralization. Assays are pending for nine additional holes, TR26-45 to TR26-53.
Key reported intervals include:
- TR26-41: 83.8 m averaging 0.90 g/t Au and 22.61 g/t Ag (1.31 g/t AuEq) from 24.4 m, including 7.6 m averaging 6.97 g/t Au and 75.42 g/t Ag (8.34 g/t AuEq).
- TR26-43: 51.8 m averaging 0.70 g/t Au and 25.59 g/t Ag (1.16 g/t AuEq) from 85.3 m, including 19.8 m averaging 1.93 g/t Au and 58.01 g/t Ag (2.99 g/t AuEq).
- TR26-44: multiple zones over a 146.3 m envelope, including 22.9 m at 0.94 g/t AuEq and 51.8 m at 0.65 g/t AuEq, with 3.0 m at 4.14 g/t AuEq and 6.1 m at 3.71 g/t AuEq as high-grade internal zones.
- TR26-40: 59.4 m averaging 0.18 g/t Au and 12.38 g/t Ag (0.40 g/t AuEq).
- TR26-42: 39.6 m averaging 0.16 g/t Au and 9.66 g/t Ag (0.34 g/t AuEq).
The company reports 93 RC holes completed in the 2025-2026 program. Results from these holes, along with TR26-45 to TR26-50, are expected to contribute to the maiden mineral resource estimate targeted for Q4 2026.
Aztec Minerals Corp. (AZT) is a pre-resource exploration company with no revenue, though the market has reacted strongly to the Tombstone expansion theme. From a June 2026 low of C$0.17, the stock nearly doubled to around C$0.33-0.34 by the end of August. The August 5 release reporting TR26-39 and TR26-38, along with land consolidation news, already carried the North Extension story.
The anchor result is TR26-39 at 88.4 m of 1.42 g/t Au and 14.58 g/t Ag for about 149 AuEq gram-metres. TR26-41, the best new hole, delivers about 110 AuEq gram-metres, roughly 26% lower. TR26-43 is shorter at about 60 AuEq gram-metres but adds a useful 19.8 m at 2.99 g/t AuEq internal zone.
The five holes all mineralized and high-grade cores at both ends are encouraging.
Aztec Minerals Corp. (AZT) is a Canadian junior exploration company listed on the TSXV under AZT and on OTCQB under AZZTF. The firm holds two principal assets: the Tombstone Project in Arizona, where it maintains an 85% joint venture interest in a historic district that produced approximately 32 million ounces of silver and 250,000 ounces of gold between 1878 and 1939. Current exploration at Tombstone focuses on shallow oxide gold-silver mineralization around and below the Contention pit, with potential for deeper CRD/skarn mineralization. The company also owns 100% of the Cervantes Project, a porphyry gold-copper exploration site in Sonora, Mexico.
Aztec Minerals is pre-revenue and pre-resource. Financial data from SEDAR as of June 30, 2026, show cash of C$3.71 million, no debt, and about 188.9 million shares outstanding. These are prior-period financials and were not updated in this news release.
