Aztec Drills 88.4 meters of 1.42 g/t Au and 14.58 g/t Ag (1.69 g/t AuEq) in First North Extension Step-Out Drilling at the Tombstone Project, Arizona
Aztec’s North Extension step-out at Tombstone returned 88.4m of 1.69 g/t AuEq, expanding the oxide footprint.

Aztec Minerals Corp. (AZT) has released assay results from nine reverse circulation (RC) drill holes at its Tombstone project, marking the first-pass step-out drilling in the newly acquired North Extension Zone.
Key intercepts from the program include:
- Hole TR26-39 returned 88.4 m averaging 1.42 g/t Au and 14.58 g/t Ag (1.69 g/t AuEq) from 10.7 m depth, with a high-grade 6.1 m core grading 12.23 g/t Au and 56.28 g/t Ag (13.25 g/t AuEq).
- Hole TR26-38 (Contention Zone) intersected 97.5 m averaging 1.06 g/t Au and 16.08 g/t Ag (1.36 g/t AuEq) from surface, including 6.1 m at 12.17 g/t Au and 69.08 g/t Ag (13.43 g/t AuEq).
- Hole TR26-33 returned 13.7 m @ 1.50 g/t Au, 23.56 g/t Ag.
- Hole TR26-31 returned 21.3 m @ 1.07 g/t Au, 28.42 g/t Ag.
- Hole TR26-37 returned 79.2 m @ 0.26 g/t Au, 8.88 g/t Ag.
Drilling in the Westside area delivered modest grades, generally under 0.2 g/t Au over intervals of 20 to 30 m. One hole, TR26-32, returned no significant values.
The company currently has 11 step-out holes pending assay results, located up to 230 m north of TR26-39. Drilling is ongoing, and these results will feed into the maiden mineral resource estimate (MRE).
Aztec Minerals Corp. (AZT) is a pre-resource explorer with no revenue, meaning any step-out that expands the mineralized footprint is incrementally positive. However, the market has already digested a string of similar-style intercepts, including July 15’s stronger 155.4 m @ 1.63 g/t AuEq and earlier high-grade silver-gold hits. The stock rallied to $0.42 in Jan 2026, then corrected to $0.17, and has recovered to $0.26 — largely pricing in the ongoing exploration success.
This release does not materially change the deposit scale or grade distribution; it confirms that the North Extension carries similar oxide mineralization but at slightly lower grade than the July 15 result. It is a routine building block toward the maiden MRE.
Aztec Minerals Corp. (AZT) is a junior explorer operating two pre-resource projects in North America: Tombstone, held in an 85% joint venture in Arizona, and Cervantes, which is 100% owned in Sonora, Mexico. The Tombstone project targets shallow, bulk-tonnage oxide gold-silver mineralization suitable for heap leaching, while also testing deeper carbonate replacement and skarn targets. The site has a historic production record of 32 million ounces of silver and 250,000 ounces of gold. Cervantes is a porphyry gold-copper system featuring an oxide gold cap, with no resource currently defined.
The company has approximately 188.9 million shares outstanding and 235.8 million fully diluted shares. As of the first quarter of 2026, Aztec Minerals held approximately C$6.5 million in cash, burning roughly C$1 million per quarter. A recent C$10 million bought deal provides additional runway. The company is targeting maiden mineral resource estimates for both projects by late Q3 2026.
