Aztec Engages Kappes, Cassiday & Associates to Advance Metallurgical Testing of Oxide Gold-Silver Mineralization at Tombstone

Aztec Minerals Corp. (AZT) has engaged Kappes, Cassiday & Associates (KCA) to conduct initial bottle-roll NaCN leach testing on samples from the Tombstone Project. This initiative aims to advance the metallurgical characterization of oxidized gold-silver mineralization and serves as a continuation of shake tests completed earlier in the year. The samples utilized for this testing represent multiple lithologic types and grade levels of oxidized gold-silver mineralization at the Tombstone Project. The objective of this work is to de-risk the brownfield project and support the upcoming maiden Mineral Resource Estimate (MRE).
The company also provided an update on its drilling program at the Tombstone Project, noting that 17,927 meters of drilling have been completed across 87 holes, combining both Reverse Circulation and Core methods. Drilling commenced last year and is continuing in the Northern Exploration area. Since January 1, 2026, Aztec Minerals has drilled 42 RC drill holes and 5 core holes, with results reported from the initial 19 RC holes. Additionally, the company has shipped 23 RC holes and 3 core holes to analytical labs in Hermosillo, Mexico, and Tucson, Arizona. Results from these additional 23 RC and 3 core holes are expected to be released in batches over the next 60 days.
In corporate news, Aztec Minerals announced the launch of a new website at https://aztecminerals.com/. The site highlights the company’s focus on expanding and de-risking the Tombstone Property, in which it holds an 85% joint venture interest in Arizona, USA, as well as the Cervantes Property, which is 100% owned in Sonora, Mexico.
Simon Dyakowski, President & CEO, stated: "Metallurgical testing of our extensive intercepts of oxide gold-silver mineralization represents a key stepping-stone to de-risking the brownfield gold-silver Tombstone Project. This work, in combination with the upcoming maiden Mineral Resource Estimate (MRE), is expected to demonstrate the Tombstone Project's potential to become of greater economic significance to the local economy and the State of Arizona."
