Blossom Gold Reports Initial Metallurgical Results and Engagement of Metallurgical Advisor for the Rosebud Open-Pit, Heap-Leach Project

Blossom Gold Inc. (BGAU) has announced initial bottle roll and cyanide shake test results for its Rosebud Project in Nevada, conducted by Kappes, Cassiday and Associates (KCA). The testing program covered five intervals from three drill holes—BG26-002, BG26-007, and BG26-008—revealing significant variability in gold recovery between oxidized and fresh rock types. To assist with ongoing feasibility studies and metallurgical programming, the company has engaged Jim Wickens, an operating metallurgist with over 40 years of experience, as a metallurgical advisor.

The initial bottle roll leach tests were performed on 50-foot (15.2m) PQ core intervals composited from holes BG26-002, BG26-007, and BG26-008. Results are currently pending for intervals from holes BG26-004, BG26-005, and BG26-006. The data indicates that oxidized material demonstrated strong gold recovery, averaging approximately 73% at a 25mm crush, while fresh rock showed poor recovery, averaging approximately 36% at the same crush size. Specific intervals within the fresh rock required roasting to achieve greater than 100% recovery, indicating the presence of sulfide interference.

Performance metrics for the oxidized rock showed an average estimated gold recovery of 73% and an average estimated silver recovery of 63% at a 25mm crush. Specific interval results for oxidized material included:

  • Hole BG26-007 (95'-145', oxide): 81% Au recovery and 65% Ag recovery at 25mm.
  • Hole BG26-007 (195'-245', oxide): 65% Au recovery and 61% Ag recovery at 25mm.

In contrast, fresh rock performance was lower, with an average estimated gold recovery of 36% and an average estimated silver recovery of 40% at a 25mm crush. Specific interval results for fresh material included:

  • Hole BG26-002 (130'-180', fresh): 58% Au recovery and 34% Ag recovery at 25mm.
  • Hole BG26-007 (295'-345', fresh): 29% Au recovery and 45% Ag recovery at 25mm.
  • Hole BG26-008 (510'-560', fresh): 20% Au recovery and 42% Ag recovery at 25mm.

Cyanide shake tests confirmed poor leaching in fresh rock, particularly in the BG26-008 (510'-560') interval. Roasting this material at 650°C for 2 hours resulted in greater than 100% estimated gold recovery, further indicating that sulfide characteristics are inhibiting leaching. Preg-robbing tests demonstrated non-preg-robbing material in all samples, with preg-robbing levels between 0-2%, consistent with nil organic carbon levels of less than 0.01% in most samples. Mercury and copper levels were also analyzed; copper concentrations ranged from 5 to 24 mg/kg, with cyanide-soluble copper ranging from 26% to 68%.

Rick Winters, CEO of Blossom Gold Inc., commented on the findings: “Minerals are found. Mines are made... We received good information to focus on a one-inch crush with agglomeration... There is a high degree of variability, especially at head grades at or below our estimated cutoff grade of 0.17gAu/t. Nonetheless, oxides seem to leach as expected for gold in the low 70s. Silver recoveries were better than expected across all samples.”

Graden Colby, COO, added: “The met sample results thus far are in line with expectations for the oxide material. We are focused on further analysis of the fresh rock leaching properties... Grade is still King and something we have to work with at Rosebud.”

Looking ahead, Blossom Gold plans to drill and assay additional PQ core from high-grade zones and oxidized targets. Results from the next batch of interval composites and initial column leach tests are expected in Q4 2026. The company is also collaborating with the Colorado School of Mines, where doctoral student Cristy Stoian is working on the deposit's mineralogy and its impact on heap leach chemistry. This academic work is supported by the CASERM program for hyperspectral scanning and FE-SEM analysis.

The Rosebud Project hosts an Inferred Mineral Resource of 70.755 million tons grading 0.62g/t Au and 6.49g/t Ag for 1.28 million oz Au and 13.4 million oz Ag. Core samples for the metallurgical tests were prepared and analyzed by MSALABS in Elko, NV, which is accredited to ISO 17025. Methods included photon assay using a 500g charge, confirmed by fire assay/ICP-ES and aqua regia digestion.
