Drill Permit Received for Storm Exploration's Gold Standard Project
Storm secured funding and a drill permit to conduct Q3 VMS testing at its Gold Standard project.

Storm Exploration Inc. (STRM) has secured a regulatory permit to conduct exploration drilling at its 100% owned Gold Standard Project in northwestern Ontario. The permit covers a 5-kilometre Volcanogenic Massive Sulphide (VMS) target identified by a 2022 VTEM survey and historical Inco drilling. Drilling is expected to commence in Q3 2026, with an RFP issued for up to 3,000m of core drilling.
The project comprises 373 single-cell mineral claims covering 7,869 hectares, located 60km north of Fort Frances. An MOU is in place with Naicatchewenin and Nigigoonsiminikaaning First Nations.
In administrative updates, the company granted 810,000 stock options to directors, officers, and consultants at an exercise price of $0.40, expiring August 19, 2031. Additionally, Storm Exploration adopted semi-annual financial reporting under Coordinated Blanket Order 51-933, eliminating Q1 and Q3 interim filings.
Storm Exploration Inc. (STRM) has received the drill permit for its Gold Standard project, a procedural milestone that aligns with the company's previously announced 2026 exploration timeline. Drilling at Gold Standard was explicitly slated for Q3 2026 in May and July releases, making this a routine execution step rather than a surprise catalyst. The permit removes the final regulatory hurdle, allowing the company to deploy the $2.95M raised in the July 2026 private placement toward the 3,000m drilling program.
The company also issued 810,000 options at $0.40, which is mildly dilutive but priced at a premium to the recent trading range. Additionally, the shift to semi-annual reporting reduces administrative costs but limits near-term financial transparency for shareholders. Overall, the news is expected, incremental, and confirms the company's readiness to advance its flagship VMS target. It does not alter the fundamental risk/reward profile or provide new geological data.
Storm Exploration Inc. operates three 100% owned district-scale exploration properties in the Miminiska-Fort Hope Greenstone Belt of Northwestern Ontario. The company’s flagship Gold Standard Project covers 7,869 hectares and hosts a five-kilometre VMS conductivity anomaly. Historical drilling by Inco between 1969 and 1970 intersected massive sulphides and stringers, although the holes were shallow and unassayed. In 2022, surface rock sampling returned high-grade results, including 166 g/t Au, 197 g/t Ag, and 1.47% Cu.
The Keezhik Project features eight drill-confirmed high-grade gold targets, with historical assays reaching up to 25.8 g/t Au. The Attwood Project covers 23,230 hectares and holds base metal potential alongside historical arsenopyrite showings. All projects are road-accessible, and the company has established exploration agreements with local First Nations.
