Fort St. James Launches 2026 Exploration Program at Porcupine Property, Chasing High-Grade Historic Intercepts of Zinc, Copper, Lead & Silver Near Surface
Fort St. James launches routine prospecting at Porcupine while its cash runway remains critically short.

Fort St. James Nickel Corp. (FTJ) has launched a 2026 prospecting and rock geochemical sampling program at its Porcupine Property in central New Brunswick. The initiative focuses on areas exhibiting historical geochemical and geophysical anomalies, specifically targeting near-surface base metal and silver mineralization.
Management cited historical drilling results from 2018 to highlight potential, noting intervals such as 0.30m grading 2.66% Zn, 1.86% Pb, 0.42% Cu, and 15.7 g/t Ag. The company plans to submit 2026 rock samples to a certified independent laboratory for analysis of Zn, Pb, Cu, Ag, Au, and REEs. FTJ explicitly stated that it has not verified the historical soil geochemical or IP geophysical anomalies cited from previous third-party reports by Greenlight Resources Ltd. and Great Atlantic Resources Corp.
Fort St. James Nickel Corp. (FTJ) announced a standard exploration step following its December 2025 disclosure of a planned 1,000m drilling program at the Nepisiguit property. The release outlines initial sampling prior to committing to capital-intensive drilling and does not include new drill data, resource estimates, or financing. Given the company’s near-zero cash position and negative equity, the activity does not alter the fundamental risk profile.
Fort St. James Nickel Corp. (FTJ) is a micro-cap junior exploration company focused on base and precious metals in New Brunswick's Bathurst Mining Camp. Its flagship assets include the Porcupine Property, which targets near-surface Zn, Pb, Cu, Ag, and REE anomalies, and the Nepisiguit Property, which targets high-grade VMS zones with historic Zn/Pb intercepts. The company is in the early exploration/prospecting stage, and no NI 43-101 resource estimate has been announced.
