GFG Closes Upsized Financing of $8.1 Million
Alamos secures strategic GFG financing to maintain its stake while facing cost headwinds and production guidance cuts at its core operations.

Alamos Gold Inc. participated in a C$8.1 million best-efforts private placement by GFG Resources Inc., a transaction structured with hard dollar units, flow-through shares, and premium flow-through units. The investment allows Alamos to maintain its approximate 10.8% non-diluted ownership interest in GFG. GFG designated the proceeds for Canadian exploration expenses and general corporate purposes.
Alamos Gold Inc. (AGI) stated that the GFG financing has no material impact on its consolidated operations, cash flow, or balance sheet, serving as a routine maintenance of a strategic stake. The primary narrative for the company remains the Q2 2026 earnings and the subsequent guidance cut. The market has already priced in the operational challenges and cost inflation, as reflected in the stock's decline from its March peak.
Alamos Gold Inc. (AGI) is a Canadian-based gold producer maintaining a diversified portfolio of producing and development assets across Canada and Mexico. The company’s producing operations include the Island Gold District and Young-Davidson in Ontario, as well as the Mulatos District in Sonora, Mexico.
On the development front, Alamos Gold is advancing the Puerto Del Aire project in Mexico, targeting a mid-2027 start date, and the Lynn Lake District in Ontario, with a target of H1 2029. In October 2025, the company sold its Turkish development projects for a total consideration of $470 million, a move that streamlined its portfolio to focus on core North American assets. The company operates in low-risk jurisdictions characterized by stable mining codes and strong ESG performance.
