Compass Gold Reports Final Diamond Drilling Assays at Massala Prospect, Intersecting 8.35 M @ 2.82 g/t Au
Compass confirms 340 m strike continuity at Massala, with the highest-grade intercept already priced in.

Compass Gold Corporation (CVB) has released the final assay results from a 42-hole, 1,457.3-meter diamond drilling program at the Massala prospect on its Sikasso Property in Mali. The results highlight a new widest interval of 8.35 meters at 2.82 grams per tonne of gold (MADD013) and recap previously announced results of 18 meters at 4.99 grams per tonne of gold, including 0.8 meters at greater than 100 grams per tonne of gold (MADD001).
Overall, 35 of the 42 holes, representing 82% of the program, intersected gold mineralization over a 340-meter strike along the Tarabala fault. Additional intercepts include 8.30 meters at 1.45 grams per tonne, 6.58 meters at 0.82 grams per tonne, and several narrow high-grade hits. The company states that these results support its planning for initial small-mine production.
Compass Gold Corporation (CVB) released a wrap-up of its exploration program, highlighting the MADD001 bonanza, the most significant result of which was previously disclosed and absorbed by the market in May 2026. Following that earlier news, the stock price rallied from approximately $0.14 to between $0.18 and $0.19 before drifting back to $0.15, suggesting that initial excitement faded as the nugget effect and low background grades became apparent. The incremental results released today do not alter the deposit-scale picture and are unlikely to re-rate the equity.
The company remains a pre-resource, pre-permit explorer. While the results are supportive, they are not transformational. They confirm the structure is gold-bearing, but the critical challenge of converting nuggety, vein-hosted gold into a reliable resource and economic mining plan remains unresolved. No resource estimate is provided, and the small-mine permit is still pending. Consequently, the news serves as routine confirmation of continuity rather than a material development.
Compass Gold Corporation (CVB) is a Mali-focused junior gold explorer targeting near-term small-mine production at the Massala prospect within its 1,173 km² Sikasso Property. The company holds a 100% interest in the project and has completed a 42-hole shallow diamond program, though no formal resource or reserve has been defined. While the company has received its environmental permit, the final Small Mine Permit remains pending.
Metallurgical tests on a single sample indicate gravity recovery of up to 61% and cyanide leach recovery of up to 95.3%, suggesting a simple processing flowsheet. As of March 31, 2026, Compass Gold carried C$4.4M in cash. The company also has a large warrant overhang of 39M warrants that could provide future cash if exercised.
