Another batch of high-grade assays for FireFly's resource update and economic studies
FireFly reports high-grade VMS copper-gold infill at the project, maintaining its world-class status ahead of a resource upgrade.

FireFly Metals Ltd. (FFM) released new underground drill intersections from its Green Bay copper-gold project on August 2, 2026. The results include infill and resource conversion data intended to support an imminent Mineral Resource Estimate (MRE) update and a planned Preliminary Economic Assessment (PEA) expected by the end of August. No new step-out discoveries were announced.
Key intercepts reported include: - VMS Zone: 11.5m @ 13.2% CuEq (11.1% Cu & 2.1g/t Au), 18.9m @ 8.2% CuEq (7.0% Cu & 1.3g/t Au), 13.5m @ 11.1% CuEq (8.4% Cu & 2.6g/t Au), 19.8m @ 7.2% CuEq (6.6% Cu & 0.7g/t Au), 8.5m @ 12.4% CuEq (9.5% Cu & 3.1g/t Au). - Core Zone: 65.3m @ 4.3% CuEq (3.6% Cu & 0.7g/t Au). - Footwall Zone: 36.9m @ 2.7% CuEq (2.6% Cu & 0.1g/t Au).
FireFly Metals Ltd. (FFM) has seen its share price rise from A$0.95 in August 2025 to a peak of A$2.28 in January 2026, a movement that reflects the market’s absorption of exceptionally high-grade results over the past 12 months. This period culminated in a 51% increase in copper-equivalent metal at the last resource update in November 2025, effectively pricing in a significant resource upgrade and a high-probability preliminary economic assessment (PEA).
Today’s results consist solely of infill drilling. These results are intended to convert inferred resources to measured and indicated categories, thereby improving the confidence of the upcoming PEA. However, the release does not add new tonnes nor substantially change the grade histogram that the market already expects. The imminent mineral resource estimate (MRE) update and PEA remain the primary catalysts for the company, with this release serving only to deliver the underlying data.
While the news is positive due to good grades and supports de-risking efforts, the release is considered routine. The stock is unlikely to re-rate materially on this release alone.
FireFly Metals Ltd. (FFM) is advancing the Green Bay Copper-Gold Project in Newfoundland, a volcanogenic massive sulfide district with a significant history of production. The project hosts a large resource comprising 50.4 million tonnes of measured and indicated resources grading 2.0% copper equivalent, alongside 29.3 million tonnes of inferred resources grading 2.5% copper equivalent. This includes the Core Zone, which contains 8.8 million tonnes of measured and indicated resources grading 3.9% copper equivalent.
The company holds approximately A$251 million in cash as of December 2025 and is targeting an upscaled restart, with economic studies expected in the near future. A recent sale of non-core Ontario gold assets has streamlined the company’s portfolio.
