Extremely high-grade copper-gold Core Zone to drive early production
FireFly is advancing toward a production restart at its Green Bay project, a high-grade VMS copper-gold deposit.

FireFly Metals Ltd. (FFM) released its quarterly activities report, which reiterates previously announced high-grade drill results from the Core Zone and provides an update on the area's potential to underpin early production. The company highlighted intercepts including MUG26‑053 with 42.0 m @ 6.1% CuEq, MUG26‑054 with 51.5 m @ 4.9% CuEq, and MUG25‑096 with 70.8 m @ 4.0% CuEq.
The report confirms the completion of the sale of the company’s Ontario gold assets, Pickle Crow and Sioux Lookout, to Bellavista. It also notes the company’s inclusion in the S&P/ASX 200 and reports a cash and liquid investments balance of A$196.4 M as of 30 June 2026.
Management stated that the strength of the Core Zone results has driven the decision to defer the Preliminary Economic Assessment (PEA) and Scoping Study to August 2026. This delay allows the company to incorporate an updated Mineral Resource into the study.
FireFly Metals Ltd. (FFM) released drilling information that the market had already absorbed on July 1 and April 7. The company delayed its Preliminary Economic Assessment (PEA) to August, a shift from the previously stated mid-2026 timeline, which management characterizes as a deliberate enhancement.
Corporate updates regarding the completion of an asset sale, index inclusion, and cash position align with prior announcements and presented no surprises. The company reported a cash burn of approximately A$55 million during the half-year, consistent with an aggressive drilling and development program.
The stock has declined from above $2.00 to $1.69, suggesting the market has already repriced copper-sector and permit-timeline risks.
FireFly Metals Ltd is an ASX/TSX-listed explorer focused on the Green Bay Copper-Gold Project in Newfoundland, Canada, a VMS camp with a historic mine and significant in-place infrastructure. The company holds 100% of Green Bay, which includes the Ming and Little Deer deposits and multiple exploration targets, and has recently sold its Ontario gold assets. It maintains a strong institutional register of approximately 72%, carries no debt, and holds ample cash to fund ongoing exploration and studies.
