Eastport Critical Metals Confirms Extensive Copper Mineralisation at Flagship Matsitama Copper Project with Multiple Intercepts Exceeding 100 Metres
Eastport Critical infill drilling confirms low-grade copper at the project, validating a small historical resource without naming a qualified person.

Eastport Critical Metals Corp. (EVI) announced the first batch of Phase 1 infill drilling results from the Nak-Main zone of its Matsitama Copper Project in Botswana. Of the six holes drilled, five reported copper mineralization, with three intersecting more than 100 meters of mineralized material.
Highlighted intercepts included NAKDD25-003, which returned 137.1 meters at 2,346 ppm Cu (0.23% Cu); NAKDD25-004, which returned 100.6 meters at 2,394 ppm Cu (0.24% Cu); and NAKDD25-007, which returned 109.6 meters at 3,002 ppm Cu (0.30% Cu). The company also cited internal higher-grade zones, including 37.4 meters at 4,289 ppm Cu, 54.2 meters at 4,690 ppm Cu, and 14.1 meters at 7,192 ppm Cu.
The drilling program was designed to validate historical drilling data and support a future NI 43-101 resource update. Mineralization is reported to remain open along strike and at depth.
Eastport Critical Metals Corp. (EVI) released infill drilling results that confirm the continuity of a historical 9.9 Mt resource at sub-economic grades. The deposit remains small and has not expanded. The company’s share price has declined from $1.23 in January 2026 to $0.56, a drop attributed to fading uranium discovery hype and a lack of material catalysts. The market appears to have already priced in the confirmation of this resource.
As a pre-revenue junior explorer facing a going-concern warning, the release does not de-risk the Matsitama asset or signal a transformational discovery. The absence of a Qualified Person undermines the credibility of the data, making it impossible to validate under NI 43-101 standards. For a grassroots or pre-resource explorer, infill results validating a small historical resource are considered routine rather than material, and the news is not expected to significantly impact the company’s standing.
Eastport Critical Metals Corp. (EVI) is a TSX-V-listed junior explorer with a portfolio of copper (Matsitama), uranium (Foley), REE (Semarule), and nickel-PGE (Selebi-East) projects in Botswana. The flagship Matsitama project hosts a historical resource of 9.9 Mt at 0.46% Cu (non-compliant) with no current NI 43-101 resource.
The company completed a $2M private placement in Feb 2026 and has ~$2.5M cash as of April 2026, but is burning cash rapidly. It has a going-concern note. The Foley uranium discovery generated early hype but subsequent drill results have been low-grade and unremarkable.
