West Point Gold Extends Northeast Tyro Gold Zone to 350m Depth; Drilling Returns 51.9m at 2.5 g/t Au, Including 21.4m at 4.72 g/t Au

West Point’s NE Tyro resource deepens to 350 metres, though new drill holes lack the high-grade punch of recent bonanza-scale intersections.

Executive Summary

West Point Gold Corp. (WPG) reported five new drill holes totaling 1,542 meters at the Northeast Tyro zone of its Gold Chain project in Arizona. The results include:

  • Hole GC26‑169: 51.9 m @ 2.5 g/t Au (including 21.4 m @ 4.72 g/t Au) from 276 m downhole, with an estimated true width of 38 m.
  • Hole GC26‑157: 32.0 m @ 3.4 g/t Au (including 9.1 m @ 7.85 g/t Au) from 253 m, located approximately 60 m below hole GC25‑085, which returned 29 m @ 5.24 g/t Au.
  • Hole GC26‑159: 36.5 m @ 2.79 g/t Au (including 9.1 m @ 6.46 g/t Au) at approximately 350 m depth.
  • Hole GC26‑142: 23.6 m @ 1.51 g/t Au, drilled 40 m below GC25‑088.
  • Hole GC26‑165: Returned low-level anomalous values defining the upper limit of the zone.

The zone is interpreted as open at depth and to the northeast toward the Frisco Graben. A total of 14 holes, comprising 4,378 m, remain pending from the 21,079 m program, with all results intended to feed the maiden resource estimate due later in 2026.

Material Impact

West Point Gold Corp. (WPG) released additional drill results at its pre-resource exploration stage, with each hole contributing to the upcoming maiden resource definition. However, this latest set of intersections does not materially alter the narrative regarding the deposit’s size, grade, or continuity. The reported grades are lower than the high-grade widening holes announced on July 9, and the depths encountered are incremental.

Following the July 9 release, the stock rallied from $1.48 to $1.57 on July 9-10 before retracing to $1.48 by July 13. The current data serves as confirmation of previous findings but offers no positive surprise, potentially failing to re-ignite market momentum. The maiden resource remains the primary catalyst for the company, with these results adding tonnage without changing the underlying investment thesis.

Company Overview

West Point Gold Corp. (WPG) is a junior gold explorer focused on the low-sulphidation epithermal Gold Chain project in Arizona, its primary asset, alongside the Baxter Spring and Jefferson Canyon projects in Nevada. The Gold Chain project hosts the Tyro Main and NE Tyro zones, which feature a strike length of more than 1 km and have been drilled to a depth of 350 m. The company aims to deliver a maiden resource in the second half of 2026.

The company is well-funded, holding $20.4 million in cash as of Q1 2026, with a working capital surplus of $20.3 million and no debt. Metallurgy tests on the flagship project indicate gold recovery rates of 87–92% by milling, with heap-leach optionality.
