Western Gold Exploration Intersects 3.9 m @ 7.17 g/t Gold in Maiden Drilling at the Caledonian Gold Project, Scotland
Western reports maiden drill results validating a high-grade polymetallic vein system at its Caledonian project.

Western Gold Exploration Ltd. (WGLD) announced the completion of its maiden diamond drilling campaign at the Caledonian Gold Project in Scotland. The program targeted the Coire a'Ghabhalach (CaG Vein) and Creag Sheileach prospects.
Results from four holes at CaG Vein, totaling 667m, were reported, intersecting high-grade polymetallic gold-silver-zinc-lead mineralization. Key intercepts include:
- 3.9m @ 7.17 g/t Au, 27.8 g/t Ag, 2.1% Zn, 6.51% Pb from 86.0m, including 0.5m @ 42.8 g/t Au.
Three additional holes at Creag Sheileach, totaling 1,260m, are complete, with assay results pending. The company confirmed the mineralization system remains open along strike and down dip. Future work includes ground Induced Polarization (IP) geophysical surveys and soil grid extensions to expand the target area.
Western Gold Exploration Ltd. (WGLD) reported maiden drill results that validate high-grade surface sampling and targeting work conducted over the past several months. The intercepts align with the polymetallic vein system characteristics observed in historical data and surface sampling, confirming the geological model.
As an exploration-stage company with no revenue, the primary value driver is the progression of the Caledonian Gold Project. This release represents a standard, expected milestone in the maiden drilling program. The results do not yet define a mineral resource or indicate a path to immediate production, but they successfully advance the project from surface sampling to subsurface validation.
Pending results from the Creag Sheileach target will be the next catalyst to assess continuity and grade potential across the broader licence area.
Western Gold Exploration Ltd. (WGLD) is an exploration-stage company focused on the Caledonian Gold Project in central Scotland. The flagship project is held through a 90/10 joint venture, Glen Lyon Limited, with Acrux Gold, which owns the nearby Cononish mine, Scotland's only producing gold and silver mine. The project covers approximately 225 square kilometers across the Glen Orchy and Lyon licence applications, situated along the highly prospective Tyndrum fault corridor. The company has transitioned from historical data review and surface sampling to maiden diamond drilling, targeting high-grade polymetallic quartz-sulphide veins analogous to the Cononish deposit.
