Kincora Secures Option over Outcropping Porphyry Project
Kincora expands its Macquarie Arc footprint ahead of major drilling catalysts.

Kincora Copper Limited has entered into an exclusive nine-month Option Agreement with Lightning Minerals Limited to acquire a 100% interest in six early-stage exploration licenses. The portfolio, covering 1,147 km² in the Lachlan Fold Belt of Australia, includes the Boree Creek project, which hosts an outcropping Macquarie Arc porphyry copper-gold system, and the Corryong project, a multi-reef Victorian gold field target.
The transaction structure requires a non-refundable $100,000 AUD option fee, followed by an additional $100,000 AUD and 153,837 shares upon option exercise. A further 102,558 shares are due upon licence renewal in 2027. Kincora is obligated to complete a minimum of 400m of diamond core drilling on Exploration Licence 9273 (Boree Creek) to support licence renewal.
Historical drilling at the Dairy Hill prospect within Boree Creek by CRA Exploration/Rio Tinto in 1994 reported 48m @ 0.35% Cu and 0.31 g/t Au. True widths are unknown, and historical QA/QC records are absent. The Corryong project sits adjacent to Dart Mining's Mt Unicorn deposit, which hosts a reported Mineral Resource of 203 Mt @ 596 ppm MoEq. Funding for the option, milestones, and initial drilling will come from Kincora's existing cash position, estimated at ~$13 million AUD.
Kincora Copper Limited (KCC) has acquired an interest in the Boree Creek project, a move that aligns with the company’s stated “hybrid prospect generator” strategy of systematically expanding its New South Wales portfolio through low-cost, early-stage options and partnerships. The acquisition involves a $100,000 AUD fee and share milestones, representing a negligible portion of the company’s approximately $13 million AUD cash balance. Additionally, the 400m drilling obligation is modest and fits within the broader $3 million AUD exploration budget announced in September 2026.
Geological risk at the site remains high, as historical data from Boree Creek is over 30 years old, lacks modern QA/QC protocols, and has unknown true widths. Validation drilling is required before any resource estimation can be considered. The news serves as incremental portfolio expansion rather than a discovery or financing event, and it does not materially alter the company’s near-term cash burn trajectory or dilution profile. The market has already priced in the company’s active exploration phase across multiple NSW projects. This announcement is a logical follow-up to the September 2026 exploration strategy update and does not contain unexpected, market-moving information.
Kincora Copper Limited (KCC) operates a hybrid prospect generator model that combines traditional geological exploration with next-generation AI and geophysical technologies. The company focuses on district-scale gold and copper exploration across two premier Australian mining districts: the Macquarie Arc, covering the Northern Junee-Narromine Belt, Nyngan, Cowal, Fairholme, Trundle, and Wongarbon, and the Cobar Basin in Condobolin.
The company’s flagship project is the Northern Junee-Narromine Belt (NJNB), specifically the Nevertire Magmatic Complex. This project is partner-funded by AngloGold Ashanti, which holds the right to invest up to A$100 million across five adjacent licenses. Kincora retains operatorship and receives a 10% management fee on expenditures. The company’s strategy emphasizes capital efficiency, leveraging non-dilutive grants, partner funding, and early-stage options to maximize discovery potential while preserving shareholder equity.
