Gemdale Gold Completes Phase 2 2026 Drill Program at its Pontio Gold Project, Finland
Gemdale completed phase 2 drilling at its project but has not yet released assay results or metallurgical data to determine the deposit's value.

Gemdale Gold Inc. (GEMG) announced the completion of its Phase 2 2026 infill drill programme at the Pontio gold project in Finland. The company did not release assay results, stating it looks forward to receiving them over the coming weeks and months. The programme comprised 2,860 metres across 14 holes (PONT099–PONT112), drilled between August and October 2026. The work was primarily focused on infilling the S1 Sector to a 50-metre drill profile spacing.
Metallurgical test work is currently underway with SLR Consulting Ltd. (UK) to investigate potential processing routes and assess gold recoveries, with preliminary results anticipated in the coming weeks. The Phase 2 work follows approximately 5,000 metres of Phase 1 drilling earlier in 2026, bringing the total for the year to approximately 7,860 metres. This adds to roughly 10,000 metres of historical drilling. Gemdale Gold targets a maiden Mineral Resource Estimate for early 2027.
The company restated the project description, noting a 4 km strike M2 Trend where mineralisation subcrops beneath thin soil, sand, and gravel cover. The mineralisation extends to at least 150 metres vertically, with an estimated true thickness ranging from 20 to 150 metres and widths of up to approximately 150 metres. Geologically, the deposit features subvertical diorite and diorite porphyry dykes intruding gneissic metasediments along a NNW corridor. The mineralisation consists of fine-grained gold with disseminated chalcopyrite and pyrrhotite within weakly sheared, variably potassic (biotite-amphibole-K-feldspar) altered intrusives. Gemdale Gold noted no particular association with quartz veining and arsenopyrite, describing the style as "enigmatic" with affinities to the roots of a deep level porphyry system or a disseminated orogenic style.
Quality assurance and quality control were managed by contractor Nivalan Timantikairaus Oy using an Atlas Copco CS1000 rig and HQ3 core. Samples were processed by ALS Minerals Outokumpu via fire assay (Au-AA23) and multi-element analysis (ME-MS61). Certified reference standards were inserted every 20th sample, representing approximately 5% of the total. The Qualified Person is Dr. Toby Strauss, President/CEO, who is expressly not independent of the Company.
Annexure 1 discloses collar coordinates, azimuth, dip, length, and completion date for the 14 new holes, as well as the entire historical database including BELANP (2011–2013), PONT (2019–2026), and R-series (1987/2001). The release also restated the non-current Savo/Rantasalmi (Osikonmäki) historical inferred resource of 3.23 Mt @ 2.7 g/t Au, approximately 276 koz. This resource was prepared by Rupert Resources in 2018 using a 1.5 g/t cutoff, 85–90% recovery, and a EUR 1,200/oz gold price. The release noted that current gold prices are approximately EUR 4,240/oz. Aside from the Phase 2 collar table, no new technical data was included in the release.
Gemdale Gold Inc. (GEMG) has completed its 2026 drilling programme, advancing approximately 7,860 metres against an originally announced target of 6,000 metres. The company confirmed that metallurgical testing is being conducted concurrently with the drilling operations, with a maiden mineral resource estimate (MRE) expected in early 2027.
The completion of the programme follows Phase 2 drilling, which began in June and was specifically highlighted in a September 15, 2026 update as focusing on infilling. The market had already priced in the ongoing nature of these activities, and the completion notice is viewed as a standard procedural update rather than a material change to the company’s operational thesis or resource model.
Historical market reaction to the company’s drilling results has been muted. The strongest prior result, PONT093 reported on August 10, 2026, returned 110 metres at 1.18 g/t gold, equating to 129.8 g·m. Following this announcement, the stock rose from $1.68 on August 7 to $1.75 on August 10, before declining to $1.64 on August 11 and falling further to $1.50 by October 20, 2026. Subsequent results, such as PONT096 reported on September 15, 2026, which returned 60.85 metres at 0.80 g/t, had no discernible impact on the share price, which closed at $1.57 on the day of the announcement and $1.53 the following day.
As of the latest data, the stock trades approximately 31% below its high of $2.16 recorded on May 8, 2026, and remains near the lower end of its trading range since listing. Analysts note that at this pre-revenue stage, with a market capitalization of approximately C$32 million, equity movements are typically driven by assay results, the maiden MRE, or financing events, rather than programme completion notices.
The company faces potential equity overhang from outstanding warrants and restricted shares. Approximately 2.14 million whole warrants at C$1.30 and 1.0 million warrants at C$1.50 are currently in or at the money at the C$1.50 strike price. Additionally, 8.33 million shares were escrowed or restricted at listing. Eldorado holds approximately 9.5% of the company (diluting to 13.6%) and retains participation rights, a right of first refusal on project dispositions, and a seat on the technical committee.
Prior-period financial context indicates that for the first quarter of 2026 (ending March 31, 2026), Gemdale Gold reported a net loss of €704,975, cash holdings of €2,891,647, working capital of €2,830,622, and total equity of €2,868,999, with 21,252,722 shares outstanding. For the full year 2025, the company reported a net loss of €962,200 and year-end cash of €59,164, with equity negative €495,178 prior to February 2026 financings. The management’s MD&A outlines a FY2026 budget of €2,043,560, comprising €1,240,000 for technical and drilling activities, €519,560 for general and administrative expenses, and €284,000 for landholding costs. The company has stated an intention to pursue additional financing, having previously raised €2.65 million via subscription receipts at C$1.00 per unit and €1.49 million from Eldorado at C$1.20 per unit.
Gemdale Gold Inc. (TSXV:GEMG / OTCQB:GDGIF) is a junior gold and critical-metals explorer active in Finland since 2018. The company listed on the TSXV on 11 Feb 2026 and the OTCQB on 1 Apr 2026, having operated privately prior to that point. Management reports approximately C$13M invested across its properties through the listing date.
The company’s flagship asset is the 100%-owned Pontio Gold Project in western-central Finland, which carries no royalties. The project features near-surface gold mineralization over approximately 4 km of strike on the M2 Trend, covering sectors N1, N2, S1, and S2.
