Miata Intersects 43.0 m at 2.42 g/t Au, Including 4.0 m at 17.11 g/t Au at Jons Trend and Confirms Continuity with Big Berg at Sela Creek, Suriname
Miata’s JT-025 hole at Jons Trend returned 154 gram-metres over a 1.5 km corridor.

Miata Metals Corp. (MMET) has released assay results from 14 diamond drill holes completed as part of a 25,000-meter program at its Sela Creek Gold Project in Suriname. The company states that the results confirm Jons Trend and Big Berg are part of a single, continuous mineralized trend approximately 1.5 kilometers long, which remains open along strike and at depth.
The most significant intercept came from hole 26DDH-JT-025 on the Jons Trend, which returned 43.0 meters at 2.42 g/t Au from 191.0 meters, including 4.0 meters at 17.11 g/t Au from 205.0 meters (estimated true width 32.94 meters). A second interval in the same hole returned 25.6 meters at 1.96 g/t Au from 132.0 meters, including 6.3 meters at 2.16 g/t and 1.49 meters at 17.51 g/t Au (estimated true width 23.2 meters). Hole 26DDH-JT-025 represents a step-out of approximately 130 meters from hole JT-023.
Other intercepts on the Jons Trend included hole 26DDH-JT-024, which identified narrower zones with a best result of 10.99 meters at 0.75 g/t Au from 229.5 meters, and 3.0 meters at 1.61 g/t from 203.0 meters.
At the Big Berg target, hole 26DDH-BB-015 returned 13.0 meters at 1.64 g/t Au from 60.0 meters and 14.1 meters at 2.23 g/t Au from 80.5 meters, including 3.0 meters at 6.68 g/t. Hole 26DDH-BB-017 returned 18.45 meters at 1.37 g/t Au from 223.8 meters, plus 10.0 meters at 0.82 g/t and 9.4 meters at 1.07 g/t. The Big Berg footprint has been extended approximately 150 meters to the west and northwest.
Intercepts from corridor holes drilling between the Jons Trend and Big Berg include: - GH-005: 12.5 m at 1.62 g/t - GH-004: 13.7 m at 1.01 g/t - GH-003: 4.5 m at 1.85 g/t - GH-002: 17.15 m at 0.65 g/t - GH-001: 9.23 m at 0.80 g/t
Near-surface saprolite intervals were also reported: - GH-004: 20.1 m at 1.19 g/t - GH-002: 14.0 m at 1.09 g/t - GH-005: 9.5 m at 0.80 g/t - BB-020: 8.6 m at 1.71 g/t
Qualified Person Dr. Jacob Verbaas, P.Geo., approved the technical information. Samples were analyzed by FiLAB Suriname (ISO 9001:2015), and all samples passed quality assurance and quality control protocols.
Miata Metals Corp. (MMET) is currently in the pre-resource exploration stage, with no mineral resource, reserve, preliminary economic assessment, or other economic study in existence. As a discovery and definition-stage drill result, the focus is on scale and probability rather than resource grade or mine life.
The company reported a significant step-out hole, JT-025, which recorded the longest single interval of approximately 154 g.m in the recent Jons Trend sequence. This result matches or exceeds the metal content of the JT-023 anchor hole. Additionally, drilling has converted the connection between the Jons Trend and Big Berg from an interpretation into a drilling-supported, continuous trend spanning approximately 1.5 km.
The JT-025 result of approximately 154 g.m downhole surpasses the previous benchmark set by JT-023, which reported 120.2 g.m on September 29, 2026. The new hole clears the previous record on gram-metres with well-disclosed true width in a new step-out location.
Miata Metals’ stock re-rated from approximately C$0.38-0.45 in June and July to around C$0.80 in September, driven by financing, metallurgy results, and a run of results from Puma East and the Jons Trend. However, the equity has drifted from C$0.82 on October 9 to C$0.73 on October 19 leading into this release, suggesting the market is not yet pricing in a fresh positive development.
At a market capitalization of approximately C$123 million, Miata Metals is no longer a micro-cap where a single good hole might re-rate the business several-fold. The current valuation already reflects a growing gold system, meaning the incremental impact of this release is real but additive, representing an excellent-band step-out and continuity de-risking rather than a new district discovery.
Miata Metals Corp. (TSXV: MMET; OTCQX: MMETF; FSE: 8NQ), a Vancouver-based gold explorer listed on the TSX-V since April 23, 2026, following its previous listing on the CSE, is advancing its exploration activities. The company’s flagship asset is the Sela Creek Gold Project, a 215-square-kilometer property located on the Guiana Shield in Suriname, approximately 20 kilometers south of Newmont’s Merian mine. Miata holds a 70% interest in Sela Creek with an option to acquire 100%, subject to a 2% net smelter return (NSR) that is partially buy-backable. The Sela Creek license was renewed in 2025.
The company also holds a 70% beneficial interest in the Nassau Gold Project, covering approximately 200 square kilometers, with an option to acquire 100%. The concessions for Nassau, GMD 371/19 and 372/19, are currently pending renewal, presenting a live impairment risk.
Miata Metals operates as a pre-resource explorer with no established resources, reserves, or economic studies. The company is fully funding a 25,000-meter drill program for 2026, which is currently underway. The Jons Trend and Big Berg areas are emerging as core targets, while Puma East, Puma West, Golden Hand, Howler, Stranger, and Cambior serve as pipeline targets.
Regarding its capital structure, Miata reported approximately 168.2 million common shares outstanding as of September 29, 2026, an increase from approximately 105.7 million shares at March 31, 2026. This dilution resulted from financings in August 2026, which raised C$25.2 million at C$0.41 per share, and a December 2025 offering that raised C$11.5 million at C$0.48 per share. As of August 18, 2026, the company held approximately C$26.6 million in cash.
Prior-period financial data not disclosed in today’s release indicates a net loss of C$9.5 million and exploration spending of C$6.8 million for the nine months ended March 31, 2026. The company reported working capital of C$8.5 million with no debt, though a going-concern reliance was flagged in the MD&A.
The board and management team includes CEO Dr. Jaap Verbaas, CFO John Wenger, Executive Chair James Reid, who was appointed in 2026, and VP of Exploration Luke Bickerton. La Mancha holds approximately 19.9% of the company, retaining a board nomination right and a standstill agreement that prevents it from exceeding a 25% stake for two years.
