Sterling Increases Strike of MEPS Discovery to 1.3km and Discovers Molybdenum-Copper Porphyry Stock at Depth

Sterling extended the deposit 1.3km along strike, though step-out assays weakened compared to the SC-26-13 anchor hole.

Executive Summary

Sterling Metals Corp. (SAG) has released assay results for four step-out and fill holes drilled at the MEPS Zone of its Soo Copper Project in Ontario. The company reported that the strike length has increased by 300 meters to over 1.3 kilometers and remains open to the east and at depth. True widths have not yet been determined, and no cutoff grade has been applied to the data.

Key intercepts from the drilling program include:

  • SC-26-16: 450.92m grading 0.30% CuEq from 17.18m to 468.10m. This interval includes 101m at 0.50% CuEq from 117m, and 12m at 1.70% CuEq from 157m, with raw grades of 1.32% Cu, 110.50 ppm Mo, 0.23 g/t Au, and 10.84 g/t Ag. The hole also intersected a granite porphyry stock from 306.0m to 468.1m, reporting 162.1m at 0.32% CuEq. The final 3m of this intersection contained elevated molybdenum samples of 2,080 ppm, 2,060 ppm, and 659 ppm Mo.
  • SC-26-15: 436.75m at 0.30% CuEq from 14.25m. This includes 51m at 0.50% CuEq, 12.5m at 1.01% CuEq, and a Mo-rich 26m at 0.79% CuEq from 396m.
  • SC-26-14: 73m at 0.31% CuEq from 29m, including 22m at 0.44% CuEq.
  • SC-26-17: 284.75m at 0.29% CuEq from 19.75m. This interval includes 109.5m at 0.43% CuEq and 9.97m at 1.31% CuEq. The hole did not intersect the granite porphyry stock.
Material Impact

Sterling Metals Corp. (SAG) is a pre-resource, pre-revenue grassroots explorer with a basic market capitalization of roughly C$62M at C$1.34. The market’s embedded anchor is SC-26-13, released on 10 August 2026. That hole re-rated the stock from about C$1.02 to C$1.34 within days, and the stock has held C$1.12–1.38 since.

The new release is a step-out result. Compared with SC-26-13:

  • Broad intercept percent-metres fell about 24%: 135 versus 178.
  • Broad grade fell from 0.40% to 0.30% CuEq.
  • The 101m at 0.50% CuEq is only half the length of SC-26-13’s 203.1m at 0.51% CuEq.
  • Best high-grade interval is weaker: 12m at 1.70% CuEq versus 16.25m at 2.31% CuEq and 9.5m at 2.34% CuEq.

The 1.3km strike extension and mineralized Mo-Cu porphyry stock are genuine positives, but they are not yet economic intercepts. The stock is not near its 52-week low and has re-rated on the prior result, so this is not an unpriced positive. Expected share-price impact: I would not be surprised by a 10–20% decline toward C$1.08–1.20 if the broader tape does not offset the miss.

Company Overview

Sterling Metals Corp. is a TSXV-listed, pre-revenue mineral exploration company. Its flagship asset is the Soo Copper Project in Ontario, a copper-molybdenum porphyry system featuring broad near-surface Cu-Mo mineralization and historic production nearby. In 2026, the company acquired QcX Gold, consolidating a land package exceeding 35,000 hectares across the Batchewana Copper Belt.

The company’s secondary Adeline Project in Labrador has been impaired and sold at nominal value, with no near-term exploration planned. Sterling Metals currently holds no mineral resources or reserves, has not completed a preliminary economic assessment, and has no production.

In the first quarter of 2026, the company reported a net loss of C$233,243. It held cash of C$11,134,471 and total equity of C$24,886,942. Management explicitly flagged a going concern.
