Nord Completed Conceptual Study to Guide Strategy and Targeting by Evaluating Open-Pit Concept at Castle East
Nord Precious conceptual open-pit study at Castle East adds optionality without defining a resource.

Nord Precious Metals Mining Inc. announced that engineering firm Norda Stelo Inc. has completed a conceptual assessment regarding the potential for open-pit mining at the Castle East area of the Company's Castle property in Ontario. The assessment aims to determine whether broader, lower-grade near-surface silver-cobalt-gold mineralization surrounding historic mine workings warrants systematic evaluation, shifting focus beyond the narrow, high-grade underground vein system previously targeted.
The work remains preliminary and conceptual; it does not define a mineral resource or mineral reserve, nor does it demonstrate technical or economic viability. Consequently, no quantitative results or technical design outputs are being disclosed. Next steps include updating the geological model to incorporate additional mineralization envelopes, validating drilling and assay data, refining silver, cobalt, and gold geological domains, and prioritizing shallow exploration targets. Follow-up drilling is planned, subject to financing, permitting, and technical review. The Qualified Person is Frank J. Basa, P.Eng., a director of the Company and not independent.
Nord Precious Metals Mining Inc. (NTH) released a statement marking a standard, expected step in the exploration lifecycle for a junior mining company. Conceptual studies are routinely conducted to identify new target geometries before committing capital to detailed drilling or engineering. The company explicitly states that technical or economic viability is not demonstrated, and no new financial metrics, resource estimates, or permitting milestones are disclosed.
The announcement aligns with previous exploration updates highlighting the district-scale potential of the Castle property and the transition from narrow vein targeting to broader near-surface evaluation. Given the preliminary nature and lack of quantitative data, the immediate market impact is expected to be neutral. It does not alter the near-term capital requirements or timeline for the Gowganda tailings recovery project.
Nord Precious Metals Mining Inc. (NTH) operates in Ontario’s historic Cobalt and Gowganda silver camps, focusing on high-grade silver and cobalt exploration alongside a novel tailings recovery strategy.
The company’s flagship Castle East project is a high-grade silver-cobalt discovery featuring a historical inferred resource of 7.56 million ounces of silver averaging 8,582 g/t Ag. Nord Precious Metals is currently advancing a 30,000-metre drill program to expand the resource and define underground access.
At the Gowganda Silver Tailings project, the company holds a historical indicated tailings resource of approximately 1.94 million tonnes grading 47.5 g/t Ag, equating to roughly 2.96 million ounces. Nord Precious Metals is pursuing a fast-track Recovery Permit to process these tailings using a modular gravity concentration plant and TTL Laboratories.
Processing infrastructure includes TTL Laboratories in the Cobalt Camp, a permitted high-grade milling facility. The company also utilizes the Re-2Ox hydrometallurgical process to recover cobalt sulphate and eliminate arsenic barriers.
