Vancouver, BC – August 25, 2026 – Global Stocks News - Sponsored content disseminated on behalf of Selkirk Copper Mines. In the last month, Selkirk Copper Mines (TSXV: SCMI) (FRA: IO20) (OTCQX: SKRKF) issued three significant press releases, starting with the July 30, 2026 announcement of an updated Mineral Resource Estimate (MRE) for the Minto Project in the Yukon, Canada.
Fourteen months ago, Selkirk First Nation (SFN) purchased the former Minto Mine out of bankruptcy, then partnered with the Frank Giustra-backed Fiore Group to form Selkirk Copper Mines.
The stock began trading on November 4, 2025 . Since then, the price of copper has increased 50%, while the SCMI share price has risen approximately 300%.
Selkirk Copper is derisking the Minto Project through exploration, resource expansion, engineering and mine planning, with the goal of establishing a 12-15 year mine life prior to a planned production restart in 2028.
Fresh data in the updated MRE is feeding into an updated Preliminary Economic Assessment (PEA), which is expected to be published in Q3, 2026.

“This focused Phase 1 program has provided the mine planning and development team with significantly more material in the Measured & Indicated Resource categories on which to build integrated mine plans that will inform our targeted 12-15 year mine life at 4,100 tonnes per day mill feed,” stated Colin Joudrie, Selkirk Copper President & CEO, in the July 30, 2026 press release.
“ Growing the Measured and Indicated Resource category by 280% in our Phase 1 drill program supports the overall restart program objectives and strongly suggests that we have the opportunity to further upgrade and enhance the quality of the copper-gold-silver mineralized lenses.”
“We have developed an enhanced understanding of the geology and structural controls of the sixty-nine mineralized lenses, which has created a coherent and actionable drill targeting methodology that has resulted in the discovery of several new lenses of high-grade copper-gold-silver mineralization within the mine footprint.”
“We look forward to integrating results of our Phase 2 50,000-metre drill program, of which 37,000 metres of drilling has already been completed, into the growing Inferred, Indicated, and Measured Resources on the Minto Project. The Phase 2 program will support a feasibility study scheduled to start in Q3 2026,” concluded Joudrie.

On August 17, 2026, Selkirk announced the launch of a scoping study to evaluate options to safely, environmentally responsibly, and sustainably ship critical mineral concentrates through the Port of Skagway, pursuant to a Funding Agreement entered into by the Parties on July 17, 2026.
The Skagway port provides tidewater access to Pacific and Asian markets. That is strategically important. China buys 20% of Canada’s copper exports. Prior to the mine’s closure in 2023, the Minto ore was shipped across the Pacific Ocean to Japan.
Earlier in 2026, Skagway received notice their application for a Port Infrastructure Development Program grant was approved, providing US$38.6 million in US Federal funds towards the construction of a new industrial dock, which could be used for the loading of mineral concentrates.
Selkirk Copper will provide funding up to US$200,000 to complete the Scoping Study to establish a critical mineral shipping methodology that meets the needs of Skagway and its citizens as well as the future shipping requirements of Selkirk Copper.
“Creating a modern, cost-effective, and environmentally responsible option to ship Selkirk Copper’s high-value copper-gold-silver concentrate to the global market is a critical part of our mine restart strategy,” stated Joudrie.
“The Port of Skagway is an integral part of tourism, industry, and commerce in Southeast Alaska and the Yukon Territory,” stated Orion Hanson, Mayor, Municipality of Skagway. “Working with Selkirk Copper presents Skagway with the opportunity to assist in responsibly delivering critical mineral concentrates to market in a mode that meets the needs of the citizens of Skagway.”

On August 20, 2026, Selkirk announced additional results from the Phase 2 drill program , which began in May 2026, at the Minto Project in Yukon, Canada.
“The Phase 2 program, led by the exploration and development team, continues to expand known zones of mineralization in the central mine area with very good grade copper-gold-silver intercepts over mineable widths at Minto North and Area 118,” stated Joudrie.
“In the last 11 months, Selkirk Copper has completed over 97,000 metres of diamond drilling and is on track to exceed 100,000 metres by the end of August,” added Joudrie.

“Copper’s roughly 50% surge over the past year is looking less like a traditional commodities cycle and more like a structural squeeze as mine shortages collide with rising demand from power grids, AI and defense”, stated Sprott Asset Management analyst Jacob White .
“The metal has climbed from below $10,000 per metric tonne over the past year and has continued setting records this month, recently reaching about $14,545 per tonne.”
In this July 2, 2026, Crux Investor interview, “ Restart Developer Targets Mid-2028 Production ”, Selkirk Copper CEO Colin Joudrie describes the pathway to production.
“We're a copper, gold, silver mine opportunity that's targeting a restart of production of a high-quality copper-gold concentrate by mid-2028,” Joudrie told Crux Investor. “We have the benefit of significant above-ground resources, including infrastructure and camp facilities. We've completed a drill campaign that is augmenting our understanding of the resource so that we can get to that targeted 12 to 15 year mine life.”
