Magna Terra Extends the Surface Footprint of the Birch Zone to 4.4 Kilometres at the Humber Copper Project, Western Newfoundland

Magna Terra extends the Birch Zone to 4.4km, validating district-scale copper-cobalt potential in Newfoundland.

Executive Summary

Magna Terra Minerals Inc. announced the successful extension of the Birch Zone copper-silver mineralization at its Humber Copper Project in western Newfoundland to a total strike length of 4.4 kilometres. The Phase 1 2026 exploration program included extensive surface prospecting, yielding 246 rock samples, 436 soil samples, and 169 stream sediment samples, alongside a property-wide LiDAR survey.

The original Birch Zone footprint expanded from 2.2 km to 2.7 km to the northeast, with grab sample assays reaching up to 1.60% Cu and 1.7 g/t Ag. A significant new copper-silver discovery was identified 1.7 km southwest of the Birch Zone, hosted in mafic volcanic/intrusive and clastic sedimentary rocks, with assays up to 2.20% Cu, 35.3 g/t Ag, and 129 ppb Au. Additional copper mineralization was identified at the Little North Pond Target, 2.7 km southwest of the Birch Zone, with assays up to 0.26% Cu and 2.1 g/t Ag.

Future plans include a 2-line kilometre Induced Polarization (IP) ground geophysical survey at the Birch Zone. Results for soil and stream sediments are pending.

Material Impact

Magna Terra Minerals Inc. (MTT) confirmed that its exploration extension has reached 4.4 km, aligning with previous expectations. In March 2026, the company reported a geochemical footprint extending to 4.2 km. This latest release confirms structural continuity and validates the Sediment-Hosted Stratiform Copper (SSC) model previously outlined.

The discovery of new mineralization southwest of the Birch Zone adds to the district-scale narrative, though follow-up drilling is required to confirm true widths and continuity. The company remains in the early-stage exploration phase with no defined resources or reserves. Consequently, the announcement does not alter the company's capital requirements or going concern status. Continued exploration and potential drilling will necessitate further equity financing.

Company Overview

Magna Terra Minerals Inc. (MTT) is an early-stage mineral exploration company focused on gold, copper, cobalt, and silver projects in Atlantic Canada and Argentina. Its flagship asset is the Humber Copper-Cobalt Project in western Newfoundland, which is royalty-free and covers 49,925 hectares. The Birch Zone has been extended to 4.4 km of surface mineralization, with strong geochemical and geophysical support for a district-scale SSC deposit.

Other key assets include the Rocky Brook Project in New Brunswick, which hosts VMS and gold deposits; Prospect Or's Dream in New Brunswick, an epithermal gold project; the Shellbird Gold Project in Newfoundland; and a portfolio of projects in Santa Cruz Province, Argentina. The company is leveraging machine learning and traditional geophysics to generate targets across its large land packages.
