Underground Development Acceleration and Strategic Operational Transition
Abcourt’s July production miss and recovery drop highlight long-hole transition friction, while inventory cleanup masks underlying weakness.

Abcourt Mines Inc. (ABI) reported July 2026 operational metrics for its Sleeping Giant mine, highlighting a transition to long-hole (LH) stoping and a strategic shift toward higher-grade zones (>5 g/t).
July milled tonnes declined to 4,736 t from 5,229 t in June. Mill head grade fell to 1.36 g/t from 2.30 g/t in June. Recovery dropped to 86.8% from 92.4% in June. Produced ounces fell to 180 oz from 363 oz in June.
Gold poured surged to 715 oz from 175 oz in June, explicitly attributed to processing accumulated inventory in the leach circuit rather than current production.
First LH stopes commenced in July. Preliminary August blasting data shows 1,055 t at an unreconciled grade of 6.45 g/t in the 295-DAC5 sector. Management states LH stopes will be completed by mid-September, with yield increases expected by end of Q3.
Stope progress: - 295-DAC5 (512/790 m) - 235-Zone 20 (434/516 m, production Sept-Dec 2026) - 235-Zone 3 (181.5/405 m) - 355-Zone 3N (development start) - 235-Zone 4_5 (drifts complete, rail Sept 2026)
Abcourt Mines Inc. (ABI) released its July operational update, a routine monthly production report that highlighted expected friction during the long-hole transition. The company reported a production miss and a drop in recovery, developments that align with the known challenges of switching mining methods and training crews.
The update also noted a surge in gold pours of 715 oz. This increase was non-operational, driven by inventory cleanup, and should not be mistaken for a production beat.
Regarding market reaction, the stock has not been punished significantly. The price consolidated in the $0.07-$0.08 range through the miss and recently bounced to $0.09, suggesting the transition risk is already priced in. While there is no change to the long-term thesis, near-term cash flow and margin pressure remain elevated.
Abcourt Mines Inc. (ABI) operates the 100% owned Sleeping Giant gold mine in Quebec, which is currently in the ramp-up phase toward commercial production. The company’s portfolio includes the Flordin, Discovery, Cameron Shear (51%), Abcourt-Barvue (VMS), Vendôme, Aldermac, and Pershing-Manitou projects.
The Sleeping Giant mine features an operational 800-950 tpd mill, an 83-room camp, and 22 mine levels reaching 1,175 m depth. The project is located in Quebec, Canada, a jurisdiction recognized for strong mining support, renewable energy, and streamlined permitting.
