Nortec Minerals Commences Bedrock Trenching and Completes Drone Magnetic and LiDAR Survey at Barker Bay Gold Project, Northwestern Ontario
Nortec advances Barker Bay trenching ahead of a maiden drill program targeting high-grade gold intersections at the deposit.

Nortec Minerals Corp. announced the commencement of bedrock trenching, mapping, and sampling at its 100%-owned Barker Bay Gold Project in Northwestern Ontario. This work follows the completion of a drone magnetic and LiDAR survey that identified a greater than 700-meter northwest-trending gold-in-soil anomaly at the Barker North target.
The objectives of the current campaign include exposing bedrock, characterizing geological structures, and prioritizing targets for a future maiden drill program. Historical context highlights high-grade grab samples, with values up to 24.5 g/t Au, at the Barker Bros. and Petrie showings, although the property has never been drill tested. This update aligns with the company's previously announced Q2 2026 exploration roadmap following the May 2026 acquisition completion.
Nortec Minerals Corp. (NVT) has announced expected, incremental progress in its exploration cycle, with trenching and geophysical surveys serving as standard preparatory steps to derisk a maiden drill program. The work validates management's execution of the exploration plan but does not yet provide the high-grade intercepts required to materially revalue the asset. There is no immediate financial impact or change to the company's capital position, and the market has already priced in the acquisition and financing steps.
Nortec Minerals Corp. (NVT) is a mineral exploration company focused on gold and base metals in Ontario and Nevada. Its flagship asset is the Barker Bay Gold Project, a ~4,670-hectare property in Northwestern Ontario featuring historic high-grade gold showings, multiple untested shear zones, and excellent infrastructure. The property is drill-ready and currently undergoing surface exploration to prepare for a maiden drill program.
The company also holds secondary assets, including the Pearl Gold Project in Nevada, which is optioned and drill-ready with high-grade historic intercepts, and the Sturgeon Lake VMS Project in Ontario, which is optioned to a third party with an earn-in structure. Nortec Minerals is transitioning from a pure exploration play to a project development stage, with a focus on derisking assets through systematic surface work and drilling.
