Teck and Anglo American announce future Anglo Teck Executive Leadership Team
Teck leadership is set as the merger execution advances on schedule.

Teck Resources Limited and Anglo American have announced the Executive Leadership Team for their combined entity, Anglo Teck plc. Duncan Wanblad, the current CEO of Anglo American, will serve as CEO, while Jonathan Price, the current CEO of Teck Resources, will take on the role of Deputy CEO and Chief Strategy Officer.
The full regional and functional leadership has been confirmed, with executives reporting to COO Ruben Fernandes and CFO John Heasley. The transaction is expected to close between September 2026 and March 2027, with the global headquarters confirmed in Vancouver and corporate offices established in London and Johannesburg.
Financial synergies remain a key component of the merger, with the companies reiterating a target of approximately US$800 million in annual pre-tax synergies by year four post-closure. Eighty percent of these synergies are projected to be on a run-rate basis by year two. Additionally, the companies are targeting US$1.4 billion (on a 100% basis) in underlying EBITDA revenue synergies from the integration of Collahuasi and Quebrada Blanca over the period of 2030 to 2049.
The announcement confirms the leadership structure for the merger, a procedural milestone that was already telegraphed following shareholder and regulatory approvals in late 2025. It does not alter transaction terms, synergy targets, or the closing timeline. The market has already priced in the merger thesis, with the stock appreciating from ~$43.33 in August 2025 to ~$80.87 by late July 2026.
Teck Resources Limited (TECK) is a diversified mining company headquartered in Vancouver, Canada, with a global portfolio focused on copper, zinc, molybdenum, and iron ore. The company’s primary listing is on the London Stock Exchange (LSE), with secondary listings on the JSE, TSX, and NYSE.
Its flagship assets include Quebrada Blanca in Chile, Highland Valley Copper in Canada, Antamina in Peru, Carmen de Andacollo in Chile, Red Dog in the USA, Trail Operations in Canada, Kumba Iron Ore in South Africa, and Fort Hills in Canada.
The proposed merger with Anglo American would create Anglo Teck, a top-five global copper producer with greater than 70% copper exposure, combining world-class copper assets with premium iron ore and zinc operations.
