Algo Grande Provides Phase II Drill Update at Adelita; Copper Intersected in Skarn and Andesitic Porphyry at Cerro Grande

Algo Grande reports visual copper in a Phase II skarn hole, with no assays released as the stock trades near multi-month lows.

Executive Summary

Algo Grande Copper Corp. (ALGR) has released a Phase II drill update regarding the Cerro Grande skarn target at its Adelita Project in Sonora. Hole AG_CG_PH2_002 intersected 28.37 metres of visible copper mineralization across two intervals: 19.80 m from 146.70–166.50 m, and 8.57 m from 168.36–176.93 m. Minerals observed in the hole included chalcocite, chalcopyrite, bornite, and chrysocolla. The host rocks were identified as garnet-dominant skarn and andesitic porphyry, marking the first porphyry-hosted copper discovery in this program.

The hole is advancing toward a planned depth of 700 m and is currently below 200 m. From 400–700 m, the drilling will test undrilled deep skarn and a possible feeder intrusion. A second drill rig has been mobilized to support the program.

Hole AG_CG_PH2_001 was completed at 550 m, where visual sulfides including pyrite, chalcopyrite, and molybdenite, along with fugitive calcite, were noted. No assay results are reported; all numbers provided are visual observations.

Material Impact

Algo Grande Copper Corp. (ALGR) remains an early-stage explorer with no established resource, relying on drill results to justify its market capitalization. The company is currently awaiting assay results from its Phase II program, with the first assays guided for August 2026.

The recent interim visual update does not derisk the project or advance its economic viability. Visual copper in a skarn drill program is expected and does not represent a step-change. Given the stock’s decline from C$0.95 to C$0.46 and the absence of new hard data, the release is considered routine news flow.

Company Overview

Algo Grande Copper Corp. (TSXV: ALGR) is a Canadian junior explorer focused on the 100%-owned Adelita Project in Sonora, Mexico, a 5,895-hectare land package situated in the Arizona-Sonora copper belt. The project hosts the Cerro Grande Cu-Au-Ag skarn, which was discovered via historical drilling and expanded by Phase I, consisting of four holes totaling approximately 2,000 meters. This initial phase returned intercepts including 36 meters greater than 1% copper and 18.2 meters at 1.8% copper equivalent. Multiple undrilled skarn and porphyry targets exist along a 6 km corridor.

The company currently holds no resources or reserves. Phase II, comprising 8,000 meters of drilling, is underway with two rigs. The technical team includes advisors Dr. Peter Megaw and MxAS, alongside VP Exploration João Rocha. Financial data for Q1 2026 shows C$5.5 million in cash and a quarterly operating loss of C$2.4 million, with a going concern flagged. The market capitalization stands at approximately C$19.5 million, based on a share price of C$0.46.
