Copper Fox Highlights Significant Porphyry Copper-Molybdenum Exploration Indicators at Sombrero Butte, Advancing Permitting Plans for Testing Porphyry Target
Copper Fox initiated permitting steps for drilling at its Sombrero Butte porphyry project in Arizona.

Copper Fox Metals Inc. (CUU) has released an updated geological and exploration model for its 100%-owned Sombrero Butte project in Arizona. The revised model interprets the property as a large, highly evolved Laramide-age porphyry copper-molybdenum system.
Key geological indicators integrated into the model from 2024 geophysics, mapping, geochemistry, and historical drilling include a large chargeability anomaly, potassic and phyllic alteration, hypersaline fluid inclusions, and copper-molybdenum mineralization found in quartz veinlets and breccia pipes.
To advance the project, the company has retained an Arizona-based consulting firm to prepare a Geological Field Operations Plan (GFOP). This document will be submitted to the Arizona State Land Department to secure permits for future diamond drilling. Historical drilling conducted between 2006 and 2008 returned significant intervals that support the porphyry interpretation, including:
- 30m at 3.57% Cu
- 86m at 1.16% Cu
Copper Fox Metals Inc. (CUU) released an exploration update on July 24, 2026, aligning with its stated 2026 work program to advance multiple porphyry targets in Arizona and British Columbia. The release follows a series of incremental positive updates, including positive metallurgical results at Schaft Creek on July 2, the completion of a $3M private placement in June, and maiden drilling that confirmed a porphyry system at Mineral Mountain in June.
The company expects Sombrero Butte model refinement and permitting preparation to be next steps in its exploration pipeline. These activities do not represent a new discovery, a change in project economics, or a material shift in capital allocation. The news is consistent with prior expectations and does not contain unexpected, market-moving information. It reinforces the portfolio's exploration narrative but carries no immediate financial or operational impact.
Copper Fox Metals Inc. (CUU) is a Canadian junior exploration and development company focused on copper projects in North America. Its portfolio includes four wholly-owned projects: Van Dyke, Eaglehead, Sombrero Butte, and Mineral Mountain, as well as a 25% carried interest in the Schaft Creek Joint Venture, where Teck Resources holds 75% and serves as operator.
The company’s flagship assets are Schaft Creek, an advanced-stage porphyry Cu-Mo-Au-Ag project in British Columbia, and Van Dyke, an in-situ copper recovery project in Arizona targeting near-term production. Copper Fox Metals is currently transitioning multiple assets from exploration and scoping toward prefeasibility and permitting stages.
