Copper Fox Confirms Porphyry Discovery at Mineral Mountain with Grades up to 1.48% Copper and 0.313% Molybdenum
Copper Fox reported deep, lean porphyry intercepts with sub-economic grades that are far from the core.

Copper Fox Metals Inc. has released full assay results for the bottom portion of diamond drillhole MM-02-2025 at its 100%-owned Mineral Mountain porphyry copper project in Arizona. The hole intersected a 278.97-metre interval from 1,379.00 m to 1,657.97 m, averaging 0.189% Cu, 0.019% Mo, 0.57 g/t Ag, and 0.124 ppm Re.
Higher-grade zones within this interval include: * 55.88 m @ 0.264% Cu * 8.00 m @ 0.709% Cu
The company also highlighted single-sample highs of up to 1.48% Copper and 0.313% Molybdenum, noting these are not intercept averages. Copper Fox interprets the lower portion of the hole as telescoping porphyry features that vector toward a hotter potassic core at depth. The hole was not able to reach this core, terminating early at 1,697.35 m due to drilling conditions.
The reported hole does not meet that threshold.
The stock had already rallied sharply from C$0.57 to C$0.77 in the two days prior to the release, suggesting the market had priced in anticipation of a material result. The actual numbers are unlikely to sustain that move, characterizing the event as a “buy the rumour, sell the news” scenario.
The Mineral Mountain project is only one of many in the company’s portfolio, and Copper Fox’s near-term value remains anchored to the Van Dyke PEA update and the Schaft Creek JV rather than this deep, low-grade hole. While the news is positive for the exploration story, it does not materially change the investment thesis.
Copper Fox Metals Inc. (CUU) is a Canadian junior explorer managing a portfolio of porphyry copper projects. The company holds a 25% carried interest in the Schaft Creek joint venture, operated by Teck Resources (75%), which hosts a large undeveloped copper-gold-molybdenum deposit in British Columbia. Additionally, Copper Fox owns the Van Dyke ISCR project in Arizona, currently at the pre-feasibility study stage, alongside the Eaglehead project at the resource stage, and the Sombrero Butte and Mineral Mountain projects in early exploration.
The company generates no revenue and relies on frequent private placements for funding. Its latest financing round raised C$3 million in July 2026 at a price of C$0.60 per share, featuring significant insider participation. As of April 30, 2026, Copper Fox held a cash position of C$629,849, resulting in a working capital of only C$162,000, indicating an immediate need for additional funding.
