Phenom Files U.S. Provisional Application to Protect New Vanadium-Nickel Flowsheet
Phenom files a provisional patent for its vanadium-nickel flowsheet as the SSR partnership advances.

Phenom Resources Corp. (PHNM) has submitted a U.S. provisional patent application to protect the intellectual property of a newly developed metallurgical flowsheet for its high-grade vanadium-nickel opportunity. Extensive testwork conducted at SGS Canada achieved approximately 80% recovery of vanadium and 75% recovery of nickel from high-grade offshore sources using hydrometallurgical processing.
The company is actively seeking a strategic partner to fund and operate the Identified Project, while also pursuing U.S. government funding to support development amid heightened critical minerals interest. Company President & CEO Paul Cowley and Metallurgical Advisor Dr. David Dreisinger presented at the Strategic Resources in Competition Conference in Virginia.
Phenom holds a 100% interest in the Carlin Gold-Vanadium Project and options on the Dobbin and King Solomon gold properties in Nevada.
Phenom Resources Corp. (PHNM) filed a provisional patent following metallurgical testwork results announced in June 2026. The filing serves as a standard intellectual property protection step and does not introduce new commercial terms, revenue streams, or operational milestones.
The announcement aligns with the company’s previously disclosed strategy to secure a strategic partner and U.S. government funding for its vanadium project. It acts as a routine follow-up to the June 1 Letter of Intent and financing with SSR Mining.
While intellectual property protection is necessary for future partnerships and grant applications, the market impact is limited because the metallurgical recovery metrics were already public. The primary value drivers remain the execution of the SSR Mining joint venture and the Department of Energy grant decision.
The news reinforces management's focus on the vanadium asset but does not alter the near-term cash burn or project timeline.
Phenom Resources Corp. (PHNM) is a Nevada-based exploration company focused on gold and critical metals, including vanadium and rare earths. The company’s flagship assets include the Dobbin Gold Project, which features a 2.1 km long Carlin-style gold soil anomaly with trenching results up to 10.35 g/t Au. Drilling at this site is currently awaiting or commencing.
The Crescent Valley Project hosts a Bonanza-type low-sulphidation epithermal gold target and an IOCG deposit with elevated levels of Rubidium, Hafnium, Scandium, and Neodymium. Additionally, the Carlin Gold-Vanadium Project contains North America's largest highest-grade primary vanadium resource, with a Preliminary Economic Assessment (PEA) indicating 303 million lbs V2O5 in the indicated category. The King Solomon Project is a Carlin-type gold target known for historic high-grade antimony and silver mineralization.
Phenom Resources’ management team consists of experienced geologists with a track record of discovering major gold deposits in Nevada.
