Orezone Resumes Operations at Casa Berardi; Reaffirms 2026 Production Guidance
Orezone resumes production at Casa Berardi and reaffirms guidance, with maintenance pull-forward benefiting H2 2026.

Orezone Gold Corporation announced on July 17, 2026, that it had resumed operations at its Casa Berardi mine in Quebec following a voluntary suspension that began on July 14 due to nearby wildfire activity. During the shutdown, a skeleton workforce carried out planned maintenance originally scheduled for later in the year, a move expected to reduce maintenance downtime for the remainder of 2026. The company reported no damage to the mine or its infrastructure and reaffirmed its 2026 production guidance for Casa Berardi of 62,000–67,000 oz of gold.
Orezone Gold Corporation (ORE) confirmed that a three-day operational suspension at its Casa Berardi mine concluded as planned, resulting in no material production loss and providing a minor operational benefit through accelerated maintenance. The company reaffirmed its production guidance, removing residual uncertainty regarding the impact of the shutdown. This confirmation followed the July 14 production release, which had already indicated that guidance remained unaffected.
The stock traded between $2.10 and $2.11 on July 17, near the pre-suspension level of $2.31 recorded on July 14. The market had already discounted the suspension, and the news is considered mildly positive due to pulled-forward maintenance reducing future downtime, though the impact is viewed as entirely incremental.
Orezone Gold Corporation operates two mines in dual jurisdictions: Bomboré in Burkina Faso and Casa Berardi in Quebec, Canada. The Bomboré mine, an open-pit operation handling both oxide and hard-rock ore, expanded its hard-rock processing capacity to 2.5 million tonnes per annum in the first quarter of 2026. While Stage 2A is scheduled for late in the third quarter of 2026, a full Stage 2 expansion has been deferred. The company expects Bomboré to produce between 160,000 and 180,000 ounces of gold in 2026 at an all-in sustaining cost of $2,100 to $2,300 per ounce.
Orezone acquired the Casa Berardi mine on March 25, 2026. Located in Quebec, a Tier-1 jurisdiction, the underground and open-pit site has a historical production of more than 3.2 million ounces and currently holds a reserve base of 1.2 million ounces. Post-acquisition, the company anticipates producing between 62,000 and 67,000 ounces of gold in 2026 at an all-in sustaining cost of $2,600 to $2,800 per ounce.
In addition to its operating assets, Orezone holds an exploration portfolio in Quebec that includes the Heva-Hosco, Duverny, and Opinaca-Wildcat projects, which offer substantial resource upside.
