Orezone Reports Positive Drill Results at Bombore Demonstrating Growth Potential Ahead of Mineral Resource and Reserve Update in Q1 2027
Orezone’s Bomboré P16 step-out adds 600m strike ahead of a Q1 2027 resource and reserve update.

Orezone Gold Corporation (ORE) has released exploration and definition drilling results from multiple zones at its Bomboré gold mine in Burkina Faso. The results highlight a 600-metre strike extension of the P16 zone, which was previously obscured by cover and runs sub-parallel to the high-grade P17 trend.
Selected intercepts from the P16 zone include: * 8.34 g/t Au over 6.0 m (hole BBD1418) * 4.88 g/t Au over 4.6 m * 27.31 g/t Au over 1.0 m (hole BBD1405) * 12.50 g/t Au over 1.0 m
Other zones, including North, P17, Siga, and P8P9, returned wider, lower-grade intercepts. These include 2.97 g/t Au over 34.0 m (hole BBD1393), 1.26 g/t Au over 34.0 m, 1.74 g/t Au over 26.0 m (hole BBD1437, which includes a 223.25 g/t Au over 1.0 m interval), and 1.28 g/t Au over 16.6 m.
Orezone stated that a 65,000-metre drill programme, comprising 45,000 metres of definition drilling, will support a resource and reserve update scheduled for the first quarter of 2027. This update will incorporate approximately 100,000 metres of new drilling and is expected to yield a material increase in resources, driven by a higher gold price and an adjusted cutoff grade.
Orezone Gold Corporation (ORE) released drill results from its P16 discovery, which the company describes as a positive exploration development. The P16 site remains an untested extension with only a handful of holes drilled and does not yet represent a defined resource. Bulk intercepts in the North and Siga zones are extensions of known mineralization and align with prior results.
The stock had already rallied from C$2.14 to C$2.76 in the days preceding the release, potentially pricing in expectations for the resource update and recent operational improvements. The news represents routine positive drill fill that supports the growth thesis without delivering a game-changing intercept.
Orezone Gold Corporation operates as a multi-mine gold producer, managing the Bomboré mine in Burkina Faso and the recently acquired Casa Berardi mine in Quebec. Bomboré is a low-grade, bulk-tonnage open pit with reserves averaging less than 40 meters in depth, supported by a 14 km mineralized shear system. The company’s Stage 1 hard-rock expansion, designed for a capacity of 2.5 million tonnes per annum, achieved commercial production in January 2026, with Stage 2A optimization scheduled for the third quarter of 2026.
Casa Berardi operates as a higher-grade underground and open-pit facility located in a Tier-1 jurisdiction. Orezone targets gold production of 220,000 to 250,000 ounces in 2026, with an aspirational goal of exceeding 350,000 ounces annually. The company maintains a balance sheet comprising US$48 million in cash and US$110 million in debt, alongside a gold stream agreement with Franco-Nevada.
