Zentek Establishes Pathway to Sell ZenGUARD(TM) Enhanced Air Filtration Media in the U.S.
Zentek secures U.S. licensing for its ZenGUARD filtration media as the Albany project preliminary economic assessment nears completion.
Zentek Ltd. has entered an exclusive licensing agreement with Applied Silver Inc. to incorporate EPA-registered silver technology into its ZenGUARD™ Enhanced Air Filtration Media for the U.S. market. The agreement grants Zentek exclusive rights, subject to volume thresholds, across HVAC, cabin air, cleanroom, healthcare, and personal respiratory protection applications. The deal features an initial eight-year term with automatic three-year renewals.
Zentek will partner with U.S.-based Quality Filters Inc. (QFI) for manufacturing and distribution, building on an 8-12 week pilot program initiated in March 2026. The partnership aims to leverage Zentek's graphene-based materials science to enhance aerosol disruption without increasing pressure drop or energy consumption.
Zentek Ltd. (ZEN) issued a follow-up announcement regarding its March 2026 pilot evaluation with Quality Filters Inc. and the June 9, 2026 U.S. patent grant. The agreement establishes a commercial pathway for ZenGUARD™ in the United States, addressing a key regulatory and manufacturing hurdle.
The deal represents the execution of the U.S. market entry plan outlined in prior MD&A and shareholder letters, rather than a sudden shift in strategy. Financial impact is currently limited to royalty and licensing revenue recognition and manufacturing cost sharing, with no immediate revenue uplift projected. The move de-risks the ZenGUARD™ platform by securing a domestic manufacturing partner and leveraging established EPA-registered technology, which may accelerate regulatory approval timelines.
Zentek Ltd. (ZEN) operates across three core platforms: Albany Graphite, ZenGUARD™, and Triera Biosciences. Albany Graphite is an exploration-stage project in Ontario targeting ultra-high-purity (5N+) graphite for nuclear, defense, and battery applications. Independent testing confirmed 99.9992% purity with boron at or below 2.60 ppm, meeting nuclear specifications.
ZenGUARD™ is a graphene-based air filtration technology that improves viral filtration efficiency without increasing energy consumption. It was recently added to Canada's Innovative Solutions Canada (ISC) Pathway to Commercialization. Triera Biosciences, a subsidiary of Zentek, is developing aptamer-based therapeutics and diagnostics and is now launching contract research organization (CRO) services to generate near-term revenue.
