Zentek Provides Corporate Update
Albany Graphite achieves 5N+ purity and secures its first Canadian government orders for the ZenGUARD product line.
Zentek Ltd. announced the initiation of research coverage by Atrium Research Corporation. The company received its first commercial orders under the Government of Canada standing offer, announced on August 20, 2026, for ZenGUARD™ Enhanced Air Filters for federal facilities in the National Capital Region. The standing offer runs through August 18, 2027, with no minimum volume guaranteed.
Significant bench-scale purification results were released for the Albany Graphite project, achieving a new purity milestone of 99.99985 wt.% carbon (5N+) and an average purity of 99.9995 wt.% carbon across three samples. This improves upon the previously reported 99.9992 wt.% purity. Four distinct graphite grades were produced via a halogen-free fluidized bed reactor route:
- 5N thermally purified
- 4N+ thermally purified
- 4N spheroidized surface-coated
- 4N non-spherical powder
Each grade holds a certificate of analysis and multi-kilogram quantities are available for customer qualification. These technical results directly support the Preliminary Economic Assessment (PEA) announced on August 10, 2026, which estimated a US$3.85 billion after-tax NPV targeting nuclear and defense markets.
Zentek Ltd. (ZEN) has achieved a purity milestone of 99.99985% (5N+), a technical progression from the 99.9992% reported in earlier bench tests and the August Preliminary Economic Assessment (PEA). This result reinforces the feasibility of the company’s halogen-free purification route.
Additionally, Zentek secured its first government orders under a standing offer, a logical follow-up to the August 20 award. While the maximum published value of the standing offer is modest at CAD $348,666.84, securing initial call-offs validates the commercial pathway for ZenGUARD™ and demonstrates that the ISC Pathway to Commercialization is translating into actual procurement activity.
The news aligns with previous expectations set by the August PEA and the strategic reset announced in early 2026. The technical improvements reduce process risk, while the government orders provide early revenue visibility, albeit at a small scale.
