West Point drills 27.4 m of 9.56 g/t Au at Gold Chain

WPG · Price

Executive Summary

  • West Point Gold Corp. released assay results for four drill holes (GC25-85 through GC25-88) totaling 936 metres at its Gold Chain project in Arizona, highlighting multiple high-grade gold intercepts at the Northeast (NE) Tyro zone.
  • The results demonstrate good continuity and expansion of the high-grade zone both up-dip and along strike, with significant intercepts including 27.4m at 9.56 g/t Au and 44.2m at 5.46 g/t Au.
  • Drilling confirms the zone remains open to the northeast and at depth, with the company expecting these results to positively impact the upcoming maiden resource estimate; 3,769m of the planned 15,000m program has been completed in 2025.

Key Details

  • Hole GC25-87: Returned 27.4 metres of 9.56 g/t Au from 71.6 m to 99.1 m, including 13.7 metres of 18.00 g/t Au from 79.3 m to 93.0 m. This intercept is located approximately 50 m up-dip from GC25-49, expanding the highest-grade part of the zone.
  • Hole GC25-88: Returned 44.2 metres of 5.46 g/t Au from 140.2 m to 184.4 m, including 18.3 metres of 12.04 g/t Au from 166.1 m to 184.4 m. This is the farthest northeast hole at Tyro, expanding the high-grade zone along strike.
  • Hole GC25-85: Returned 29.0 metres of 5.24 g/t Au from 164.6 m to 193.6 m, including 12.2 metres of 10.48 g/t Au from 176.8 m to 189.0 m. This hole is located about 80 m down-dip from GC25-58.
  • Hole GC25-86: Returned 36.6 metres of 2.22 g/t Au from 179.8 m to 216.4 m, located about 140 m down-dip from GC25-57.
  • Program Status: A total of 3,769 metres of the planned 15,000-metre drill program was completed in 2025. Two additional holes (540 m) have been completed with assays pending.
  • Geological Observations: Close inspection of drill cuttings reveals an increase in varicolored chalcedony, crustiform banding, adularia, and illite-pyrite alteration in the wallrock.
  • Future Plans: The company anticipates receiving its plan of operations in early 2026, which will permit drilling of core and RC holes outside of controlled patented claims to allow for deeper tests and further exploration toward the Frisco graben target area.
  • Technical Methodology: Samples were analyzed by American Assay Laboratories of Sparks, Nev. Gold was determined by fire assay with an ICP finish; overlimit samples were determined by fire assay and gravimetric finish. Silver and 15 other elements were determined by aqua regia ICP-AES.

Notable Quotes

  • "Drilling at NE Tyro continues to return better-than-expected grades with good continuity at relatively shallow depths. The high-grade zone at NE Tyro appears to continue at depth and to the northeast, suggesting the zone remains open to further expansion as we continue drilling. We expect these results to positively impact the grade profile and the overall scale of our upcoming maiden resource." — Derek Macpherson, President and CEO
